Even the most experienced housewives sometimes have embarrassments during the ironing process, which can result in the appearance of a spot that looks like a scorcher. In some cases, there is nothing left to do to remove the trace from the iron with the help of a sticker, embroidery or applique. But at first you should try to get rid of the problem on clothes with the help of safe and affordable folk remedies. Choosing the right solution, you need to be guided by the color of the fabric and the type of fiber, otherwise there is a risk of aggravating the situation or the appearance of new damages.
The rules that will help prevent the appearance of spots
The question of how to remove a stain from an iron from your favorite thing will never arise if the following rules are followed in the course of processing products:
- If possible, the fabric needs to be ironed from the wrong side. If you have to work with wool and knitwear, you can go and face, but in this case a protective barrier in the form of cotton cloth or gauze is mandatory.
- It is not necessary to pursue quick results, putting out an ironing mode too aggressive for a particular matter.
- If recommendations from the manufacturer allow, then it is recommended to use the steaming mode. It is not as dangerous as the direct action of the incandescent soleplate.
- The iron must be cleaned regularly, otherwise the characteristic spots on the clothes will appear with frightening regularity.
In addition, you should not combine ironing with other things, such as watching TV or preparing food. When processing certain fabrics, even a few seconds of delay can lead to the appearance of burns from the iron.
The most effective folk remedies against stains from the sole of the iron
Unaesthetic stains appear equally often on a black, colored and white background. To remove the stain from the iron without traces, you can use universal or specialized compounds, the main thing is to act strictly according to the instructions, taking into account the specificity of the fabric.
- Vinegar. Allows you to remove stains on dense black or dark material. To do this, in a glass of cool water, we divorce a tablespoon of vinegar, we moisten a soft rag in the solution and process the problem zone. Most often it is necessary to act on the touch, wiping those places on which the texture of the fabric is felt. No further processing is required, just dry the garment and evaluate the result.
- Chlorine. Allows you to remove the stain from the iron from white cotton or flax without much trouble. The solution must be very weak, do not take more than a teaspoon of the product per liter of water. Carefully handle the burn and send the product to the laundry.
Advice: Do not use bleach to treat heavily burned fibers, this will only accelerate their destruction. You have to use a softer way or think over the option of decorating things.
- Onion. Vegetable juice will remove fresh formation from colored matter. It is necessary to suspend the ironing process, grate the onion of the onion and apply the resulting gruel to the spoiled area. You can slightly rub the fabric, removing traces of mold. After such processing, the product will have to be sent back to the laundry, only this way it will be possible to get rid of the persistent smell of onions.
- Table salt. Fresh stain from the iron should be sprinkled with very fine salt and pour it with cool water. We wait until the mass has dried and rinse the product under running water. If the clothes are light, without bright patterns, then to enhance the effect of soda is better to replace lemon juice. The principle of work is the same. If necessary, you need to wash the object again, finally getting rid of all traces.
- Hydrogen Peroxide. Traditionally used to remove any yellowish traces on white clothing. In half a glass of cool water, we make a teaspoon of peroxide and use this solution to process the stain. If it is not possible to wipe the formation, then we simply pour the composition onto the fabric, wait a few minutes and send the product to the wash. From the old brown scrapes this method will not relieve, but yellowish fresh traces will lead out without difficulty.
- Shaving machine. If the trouble happened with very thick trousers, a sweater or a jacket, then the scorched place can simply be neatly trimmed. To do this, use a shaving machine or a special device for the removal of pellets. It is worth considering that a specific area on clothes after such processing will be considerably thinned.
- Integrated approach. If you have to deal not just with a brown stain, but with a formation covered with traces of burned fibers, then you will have to apply several methods at once. First you need to remove all the molten villi. This can be done with a soft sandpaper, razor, eraser or tape. After the area has been cleared, we apply a variant with vinegar or peroxide, depending on the color of the fabric. Moreover, the treatment of the product will not have to use a cloth, but a toothbrush. Then iron the problem area and, in case of obtaining a positive result, we send the garment for a repeated washing.
If none of the methods yielded the expected result, then you can start to rework the product or safely throw it away. It is unlikely that dry cleaners or modern stain removers will be able to do more than time-tested folk approaches.
