One of the most common troubles in any kitchen is stopping the discharge of dirty water down the drain. Organization of drain

From any sink, water is drained through the hole at the lowest point. A funnel with a branch pipe is fixed there. The siphon serves as a hydraulic seal, it does not let odors from the sewer back into the kitchen. Cleaning the drain

If the water does not leave the sink, then you can't go anywhere, you need to clean the drain. There are two fundamentally different approaches to solving the problem - to disassemble the drain and not to disassemble the drain. Of course, the first method is more radical and more effective. In fact, there is nothing terrible here. Only two nuts need to be unscrewed. One holds a siphon under the sink, the other connects it to a corrugated pipe. The nuts are unscrewed by hand, no wrenches are required. The main thing is not to forget to substitute an empty bucket into which everything that has accumulated there will merge. At the siphon, you need to unscrew the bottom cover (also by hand), shake out all the dirt and rinse it. Now check the corrugated pipe and, if necessary, clean and rinse it. Everything! In the reverse order, the drain equipment can be reassembled and reinstalled.

If it is decided to perform cleaning without disassembly, then you need to prepare the appropriate means. The most popular cleaning method among the people requires making baking soda and vinegar. Pour a few tablespoons of baking soda into the drain hole of the sink (with the mesh removed), put the mesh back in place, pour the vinegar and cover the drain hole with a rag. A violent reaction will take place with the release of carbon dioxide. Even during the reaction, violent foam and sodium salt with a predominantly alkaline component are formed. This explosive mixture dissolves residues of grease and leftovers on the walls of the plumbing. The gases formed during the reaction by their pressure help to clean the sewage line. Some time after the end of the reaction, hot water with a temperature of + 70-80 should be poured through the system. ^°WITH. If there was no large debris, then this operation will be successful.

The thick layer of fat is removed with a mixture of table salt and caustic (not baking soda). Caustic soda, which is a salt of a carbonate acid, reacts with the salt in water to produce a potent alkali. 100 g of caustic soda and 100-150 g of salt are poured into the drain and hot water is poured into the same. It is better to pour the solution from evening to night, so as not to use the sink. In the morning, rinse the system with warm running water. The difficulty of the method is that not everyone can purchase caustic soda.
