Cleaning the heating equipment at home from soot is necessary to extend its service life and in accordance with the requirements of fire safety. The fact is that particles of soot can ignite from accidental sparks, leading to a fire, and their congestion prevents the smoke from fully discharging.

Cleaning the boiler

When the chimney is contaminated, automatic monitoring systems usually emerge, notifying tenants of problems with smoke removal and the need to clean the system. Inside the boiler this is not provided, and it is necessary to monitor its contamination on its own so that there is no poisoning by combustion products, and the device continues to function normally.

Before cleaning the boiler, it is necessary to switch off the gas and power supply, wait until the boiler has cooled down completely, and then carefully disassemble it. Cleaning can be carried out in two ways - chemical and mechanical.

Chemical cleaning

The first option is less dusty, faster. Sulfamic and adipic acids are used, as well as special gels. But chemical substances corrode not only the soot itself, but also the metal of the boiler. Reduce this harmful effect by diluting the cleaning agents, but making them completely safe for the metal will not work. So recommend to clean only a small amount of dirt, which does not require a long exposure to the metal.

If nevertheless the chemical method is decided to be used for large concentrations of soot, then on their surface a neat groove is left on their surface to help solvents penetrate the soot. The acids are diluted in water and pumped into the boiler's capacity under pressure, then they are washed out with a large amount of water.

Mechanical cleaning

This type of cleaning involves the physical separation of soot from the surface. It is also imperfect - it's a long process, and if you are not careful, it's also harmful to the boiler. Trying to remove soot, its walls can be severely scratched, which will lead to faster corrosion of the metal. To prevent this, for cleaning, choose objects that do not have sharp corners. Tools for mechanical cleaning of the boiler often come with it in the kit - these are scrapers, wire brushes, brushes.

Clean the boiler or simply with brushes, or use various abrasive substances with them. For a thin layer of carbon black in 1-2 mm is suitable and ordinary soda.

In addition to soot during cleaning, salts that have settled out of the water will also be removed - scale. From this scale it is necessary to periodically clean and heat exchanger the boiler, mechanically or chemically. During mechanical cleaning, it is regularly washed with running water, and in the case of chemical cleaning, the acids are premixed with water and heated. Gel chemicals do not need dilution, but are added to the cooled heat exchanger immediately. They are slightly less effective, but at the same time less aggressive with respect to metal.

Substantially reducing the amount of soot will help fill the boiler with water, boiling it and then draining it. Many boilers also provide air cleaning - there are openings for supplying air under pressure.

Council

When cleaning the boiler and stove with any chemical preparations, work should be carried out in protective gloves and preferably in closed clothing, because all these products are more or less aggressive and dangerous to the skin.

Removing soot from the stove

The fact that the oven and chimney is time to clean, indicate primarily the color of the flame and smoke. The optimum color of the furnace flame is light orange. If much darker shades begin to predominate, this indicates a lack of traction in the system. The same is indicated by the black color of the smoke from the pipe.

In the kiln soot accumulates much more slowly than in the chimney, so it needs cleaning less often. To not have to remove all the garbage from the oven again, it is cleaned after cleaning the chimney. This is usually done manually with hard brushes, and a vacuum cleaner is used to collect the soot scattered over the room.

The vacuum cleaner can be used as a special building equipment, or leave for this purpose some old Soviet device. After use it is important to clean it well. Washing the filter does not make sense - soot will only smear. Usually it is removed with dry sand - it is sucked in, the filter with sand and soot is brushed off, if necessary, repeat the procedure several times.

Cleaning the chimney

Mechanical cleaning is carried out with significant clogging of the channel of soot or foreign objects. Naturally, the oven is switched off, the wood is removed from it, and all the shutters are closed, so that the soot does not scatter around the room. A round chimney is cleaned with a ruff slightly larger than the chimney itself, of a diameter. Square and rectangular chimneys are brushed. If an impassable blockage occurs during cleaning, they try to remove it or push it through the pole. If this does not work, then the device is in the form of a ruff suspended on a rope with a heavy metal ball at the end.

The chimney can also be cleaned with soot by adding special substances to the fuel, which, when burned, contribute to the decomposition and burning out of the soot - it partly burns and partly falls into the furnace, where it can be easily removed. These drugs are available in the form of liquid, powder and solid briquettes. To prevent the chimney from hammering, they are recommended to be used regularly, strictly following the instructions in the instructions for use, in order to prevent fires and poisoning by products of combustion.

Council

As a preventive measure, one simple folk method is often used. Around a bucket-two depending on the volume of the kiln potato purification is burned without the use of additional fuel. Starch in the process helps to burn soot.

As you can see, there is nothing complicated in cleaning the boiler and furnace from the accumulated soot. With the observance of safety precautions and accuracy, this work is within the power of any person living in the house, and there is no need to call a specialist every time. But no less than competent cleaning of the furnace and boiler, it is important to use high-quality fuel. And even more so in no case can not be used in this quality of plastic items, the remains of food. It is important to remember that the proper operation of the furnace will help minimize the soot and reduce the frequency of the necessary cleaning of the heating system at home.
