The global economic crisis has hit hard on all the most vulnerable segments of the population of different cities and countries. Based on the sociological survey of the State Department of Sociology under the government of the Russian Federation, a rating was compiled, which included the poorest cities in Russia in 2015. The list includes several of the country's largest cities, where the poverty level of residents is maximum.

10

Voronezh

The tenth place in the ranking of poor cities was occupied by Voronezh .This circumstance is connected with the destructuring and de-industrialization of the city. There was a strong social stratification of the population. The increase in expenses and the reduction in wages have had a significant impact on the poverty level of the city. The poorest are pensioners: 81% of all older people are below the poverty line.

9

Naberezhnye Chelny

In the Naberezhnye Chelny this is not the best way. Most of the poor residents of the city are pensioners and military personnel. The unemployment rate is very high.

8

Barnaul

So in the capital of the Altai Territory 62% of young and elderly citizens have income, which is enough only for the purchase of essentials and food. At the same time, 9% of residents in Barnaul have a financial opportunity to purchase a car.

7

Lipetsk

The seventh place in the poverty rating for 2015 is Lipetsk .This is due to poor quality of housing maintenance and poor quality roads. Low level of social services and health care also contributed. According to the sociological survey in the city of poor people is 16%.

6

Rostov-on-Don

The sixth place in the list of poor cities of 2015 belongs to Rostov-on-Don .The low-income residents of the city - about 52%, with the majority of the poor in this region - the elderly. Their income is enough only for the most necessary.

5

Saratov

Saratov - took the fifth position of our rating. This is due to the high mortality of residents against the backdrop of a complex life. Cheap low-quality food flooded the shelves of the city, and dirty streets spoil the impression. There are unauthorized landfills around the city. The study revealed that almost 20% of urban residents consider themselves poor, and 64% consider themselves poor people.

4

Volgograd

Volgograd entered the list of the poorest cities in Russia on the basis of low incomes of the population. At the same time, this city is a large industrial and tourist center of the country. However, with all that, the situation with the economic situation of the younger generation was complicated. It is the youth who make up 40% of the poor population of this metropolis.2% of young people are on the verge of poverty. This is reported in the research documents of the Department of Sociology of the Russian Federation: in the lists of the poorest cities in Russia for 2015.

3

Penza

The third place in the list of cities in Russia, impoverished last year, went to Penza .Part of the city's residents have additional income to make ends meet. Despite the low level of unemployment, highly paid work is a rarity. Most of the family budget of the townspeople "eat" loans, housing and communal services, food. According to the residents of the city, in the last period they do not feel social security.

2

Astrakhan

In the official list of the poorest cities in Russia 2015 the second place is Astrakhan - a city known to the world for excellent fishing, beautiful nature and sturgeon caviar. It turns out that 11% of the inhabitants are critically poor, and 56% of the city's population can not afford to spend extra money. Despite the external glamor of Astrakhan, with its beautiful hotels, restaurants, office buildings, the city does not have enough funds for elementary repair of suburban roads, there is no subsidization of charity, there is no timely export of waste from enterprises, there are production debts for payment for various kinds of services to communal workers.

1

Togliatti

The result of data processing revealed that the most problematic and poor metropolis of the Russian Federation is the world-famous Togliatti - a city of large automotive industry. Togliatti has the highest proportion of poor and low-income men of young age. Such data is disappointing, because a high index of poverty and the share of poor citizens can be the beginning of social unrest, outbreaks of aggression. There are about seven hundred thousand people living in the city, 13% of them live on the verge of poverty. This situation is connected with the fact that Togliatti is an industrial center of the late period created by the will of the leadership of the Communist Party of the former USSR.AvtoVAZ plant tolerates the decline of its operations due to tough and serious competition in the car market. And the population of the city unwillingly shares the destiny of the enterprise.

In addition to large cities, where the standard of living of their residents is low, there are many small towns and villages in which the situation with regard to the economy is more complex and gloomy. The worst result belongs to the Crimea, Smolensk and Ivanovo region. The situation is not better in the cities of the Far North.
