Original apartments of Svetlana Zeynalova
Svetlana Zeynalova, together with her husband, bought a spacious four-room apartment located on Landysheva Street in Kurkino. Apartments were rented out without finishing and were a concrete box with a column in the center. Since the builders do not recommend doing global work for the first two years, the repairs were minimal.
Only ten years later, Svetlana Zeynalova decided to start life from scratch, and the first goal was to radically change the interior. To do this, she even moved to a rented apartment, so this time to do everything on her own. The journalist doesn't like small spaces and old things. Therefore, all the furnishings were dismantled and the furniture sold.
Unusual design techniques
Since there were no load-bearing walls in the apartment, a partition was moved in the hallway and a room was made in the shape of a trapezoid. A cabinet with mirrored doors was installed in the niche, visually increasing the space. For the floor, Svetlana chose an Italian collectible tile depicting Greek patterns in beige-sandy-brown tones.
From the hallway, a large kitchen-living room with the main accent - a bar counter in the shape of a semicircle. The wall behind it is lined with glass mosaics in brown tones. The glossy fronts of the furniture in a juicy cherry shade are perfectly complemented by a white stone countertop with a glass-ceramic surface.
Decoration of private rooms
The nursery for the eldest daughter is decorated in light colors. The walls are papered beige wallpaper in a small flower. The workplace is organized near the window, decorated with tulle with a floral print. The bed is separated from the common space by a canopy made of soft pink translucent fabric.
Svetlana's bedroom is decorated with oriental elements. The main place is occupied by double bed with a low leather headboard, turning into bedside tables. Elegant bedside lamps look great against the background of a wall covered with wallpaper with a floral print.
Favorite dacha of the family
Svetlana's father always dreamed of a big house for the whole family, and for this purpose more than thirty years ago he bought a plot in the Moscow region. In order not to occupy useful land, an unusual project of a narrow and high three-story cottage was chosen.
Svetlana decided to give her parents a gift and update the interior of the most beloved room for all - the living room. The main accent of the premises was wood burning fireplace, which eventually clogged the chimney. To create a harmonious and cozy image, it was decided to turn to professionals for help.
Drawing up a design project
The parents asked to make a classic and cozy interior in which all guests would feel comfortable. The decor should slightly resemble a rustic one without unnecessary pathos and a hint of luxury. Two high-backed armchairs and a coffee table for playing backgammon will be a big plus.
Living room area - 25 m2. A huge advantage was the presence of two windows, but two interior doors made it a little difficult to draw up a design project. They decided to renovate the original fireplace, and the parquet floors were in good condition.
Repair stages
The ceiling was covered with cracks, and it was decided to use moisture-resistant drywall to level it. Plastic double-glazed windows were replaced by modern aluminum systems with a sash depth of 84 mm and energy-saving glass.
The main decoration of the living room is a fireplace. It was designed and built by Svetlana Zeynalova's father. The chimney, at the request of the owner, was cleaned and a new countertop made of quartz stone in a natural shade was installed. Interspersed with large granules create a unique texture, and the colorful pattern makes the shelf practical and undemanding to care for.
The parquet was restored and treated with a special protective oil that gives an aged effect. The walls were painted English water-based paint. A juicy green shade will create a good atmosphere in the living room. Behind the sofa, the surface was decorated with a handmade fresco. Her storyline was written specifically for this project.
The old doors did not fit into the new project at all. For the living room, canvases were made in the neoclassical style with natural veneer trim. Volumetric panels give designs nobility and elegance.
Living room furnishings
Against fireplace put a large sofa with anti-vandal brown upholstery. Thanks to a folding mechanism with an anatomical mattress, there are two additional sleeping places in the living room. Satin and velvet pillows resonate with window textiles.
