Throughout his life, the rock musician has changed more than one home. He bought and sold apartments more than once, and in the intervals between transactions he rented real estate. Several years ago, the artist became the full owner of unique apartments located near the Mariinsky Theater and Nikolsky Cathedral on the embankment of the Kryukov Canal.
Unique apartment located in the legendary Vege house. At the beginning of the last century, Alexander Ziloti lived here - an outstanding pianist, world famous, and in the thirties - geneticist Mikhail Lyubashev. The deep gray building looks unusual and stands out against the backdrop of urban development. It resembles both the palazzo of Italy and the Gothic castle of the Middle Ages.
Wealthy people live in the famous former tenement house. The private life of the owners is guarded by a video surveillance system and a concierge. It's almost impossible to get inside without an invitation. Often novice guides call the building "the house of the chocolate king", sometimes you can hear that Chaliapin lived in this place. But these statements are wrong.
Layout and design features
At first, all the apartments of the Vege apartment building had a suite layout. After the revolution, housing was turned into communal apartments, and only in the nineties did the reverse process take place. The apartment was bought out, many owners moved, having received a good reward. So one of the apartments began to belong to Sergei Shnurov.
In an apartment with an area of 150 m2 the rock musician has neither a European-style renovation, nor a special palace luxury. For interior decoration, he used exclusively his own taste and did not adhere to any particular style. A light palette was chosen as the base color scheme.
Hallway in stone
From the doorway, guests enter a luxurious hallway, decorated in light colors. Large-format marble is laid on the floor, the walls are painted in a delicate beige color. An antique console table made of solid wood was placed near the entrance, the legs of which are decorated with openwork inserts in gold. An oval-shaped swivel mirror was installed on the lacquered tabletop and elegant table lamps with cone shades.
The original interior of the fireplace room
The large living room is divided into two areas. In one part of the space, a portal was built from decorative aged bricks and installed inside biofireplace. The flame can be controlled with the remote control. Gray tiles were laid on the floor in this part of the room, for the walls they chose painting in light colors.
A chamber relaxation area with luxurious English-style armchairs was set up near the hearth. The light gray upholstery is effectively complemented by soft rugs in raspberry tones. A unique low table made of solid wood covered with matte varnish was placed next to it.
The second part of the living room is decorated in a more traditional way. The space is divided by the floor covering - classic parquet, laid with French herringbone. A portal made of natural marble was installed in the corner, which is used as a candle fireplace. The walls are decorated with paintings and comic cartoons - portraits of the owner of the house, made by talented friends and fans.
Study-studio
In the office, the rock musician made a real male den. The room is divided into two parts by open metal shelving. The shelves contain an impressive library of classical literature and encyclopedias. Several low armchairs with genuine leather upholstery and a modern round table made of solid wood were installed in the working area.

The bedroom is decorated in sunny yellow tones, against which solid solid wood furniture looks spectacular. A panel made of natural wood was installed behind the headboard. On both sides of the bed, tall lamps with fabric lampshades.
