Glass jar
A container of any size and shape will do. Previously, it is recommended to stick it with salt dough to give the future piggy bank the desired appearance, for example, to turn the jar into a house.
A coin slot can be made on the removable "roof". For further processing, the dough must be allowed time to dry. It is better to paint the product with acrylic paints - they fit well on the dough and, after drying, do not get your hands dirty.
A glass jar piggy bank can be simpler if you make a slot for coins in a screw cap and paint the surface with glass paints.
Cardboard
It is a pliable and relatively durable material. For a homemade piggy bank, you only need cardboard, a colored cord, an elastic band and a thick nail. Cut out a template for a cube from cardboard. You need to draw something hard along the fold lines (a nail or the blunt side of a knife) so that the cardboard does not break during assembly.
Now it remains to fold the cube and make holes near the edges, and a slot for coins on the lid. Pull the cord through the side holes to sew the cube. For ease of manufacture (and, of course, so that it is easy to get the accumulated "treasures") the upper and the bottom side of the cube is not sewn, but fastened together with an elastic band stretched from the inside with nodules.
Plastic bottle
Crafts in the form of different animals look original from a plastic bottle. This will require a half-liter container, buttons for the peephole and themed decoration material. You need to cut a hole in the bottle for coins and then decorate.
For example, to depict a pig, a bottle needs to be pasted over with pink paper, ears and eyes should be glued to it, and a patch should be made from the lid. For the legs, use spools of thread, durable cardboard or wooden beads, and for the ponytail, use a soft wire twisted in a spiral.
Paper
To make a paper piggy bank reliable, it is recommended to make it using the papier-mâché technique. An inflated balloon is suitable as a base. It needs to be pasted over with several layers of newspaper pieces, each time allowing the glue to dry. After that, it remains to cut a hole for coins, remove the burst ball through it, and then decorate the product as desired.
Tin
Such a piggy bank is very reliable - in order to take out the money, you will have to remove the cover with a special key. They make it like this:
- Make a slot for coins in the metal preservation lid, after removing the rubber band.
- Put a lid on a can of a suitable size, and then roll up with a special machine.
- Now the craft can be decorated, for example, wrapped in colored paper or painted with oil paint.
Shoe box
If you need a big piggy bank, it's easy to use a shoebox. You just need to cut a hole for the money, and then decorate the surface. If desired, the lid can be tied to the wall with a ribbon or buttoned - for which there is enough imagination.
Threads
A piggy bank can be tied. Despite the unusual nature of this material, the product will keep its shape if you make it a stable frame, for example, from cardboard circles and wooden skewers or from plastic.
But in order to get the savings, the knitted fabric will have to be dissolved, but you can always create a new creation from the same threads.
