Scotch is one of the genius inventions of man, however, some argue that this idea was thrown to us by extraterrestrial civilizations. One way or another, we often use this tool, and just as often we face the problem of how to remove the remnants of the glue from the tape. Dust and dirt adhere to them, and invisible marks soon become a dark spot, which is not easy to cope with.

Remove from plastic
We use scotch tape to stick a shadow film on a window frame or to fix some important information on a PVC panel. And it is not so easy to remove the glue from plastic: with normal rubbing, it smears, but does not remove from the surface. Rubbing with an abrasive means spoiling the gloss, the same marks are left by a melamine sponge and even more so a knife.
You can use a regular stationery eraser - under its influence, the tape rolls into balls, which can be easily removed with a napkin.
Old tape stains on plastic can be easily removed with a glass cleaner or regular rubbing alcohol. Just for the effect, you need to wet the disc and put it on the dirty spot for at least a couple of minutes.
Remove from the tree
Before you tackle the glue from the tape, carefully study what the tree is covered with. If there is paint or varnish on the surface, any solvents can cause irreparable harm.
But on untreated wood, it is permissible to use a hot hair dryer. Warm up the surface, put a piece of cloth or thick paper on it, let it cool and remove with the rest of the glue.
Remove from upholstered furniture
It is difficult to imagine how the tape can end up on soft fabric, but nevertheless it happens. Acetone or nail polish remover will help remove the stain. You need to rub the area with a piece of cloth soaked in solvent.
Attention! All fabrics tolerate acetone well, except for flock. It cannot be treated with a solvent.
Remove from glass
Scotch tape appears quite often on the glass. And it is not difficult to remove the remnants of glue from it. There are many products that can cope with this task: alcohol, gasoline, acetone, vinegar, soapy water and vegetable oil. The glass is not afraid of heating.
Remove from metal
Why is it so difficult to remove adhesive from a metal surface? It's just that some tools can lead to the fact that the metal product begins to rust. Another problem can be an unusual surface: a lattice or forging - here you have to tinker.
If the surface is not very "capricious", you can even use a screwdriver with a rubber ring attachment. Works just like stationery tape, only much faster.
Removing from ceramics
If you are dealing with glossy ceramics, then you can use the same products on it as with glass. And matte tiles can also be cleaned with a melamine sponge dipped in water.
Remove from linoleum
And finally - traces of scotch tape on the linoleum. In this case, be careful with household chemicals. Aggressive compounds can damage the coating on PVC. The best choice is a household (not construction!) Hair dryer and a soft plastic scraper. You can completely limit yourself to one vegetable oil.
But how to remove the tape from paper without damaging its surface, see this video:
