The very name Drukspühler evokes associations with German quality and ingenuity. And it is a flush system for toilet bowl without tank. Do you think this is possible? It turns out, how!
This system is suitable for all types of toilets and is a modern alternative to cisterns, bulky and heavy. This mechanism is especially in demand in bathrooms where suspended plumbing is mounted.
How does the Drukspühler work
It is a small device in size, inside of which there is a mechanism that increases the pressure.
As you can see, the cylinder of the device is divided into two parts by the internal cartridge. When you press the flush button, an artificial pressure difference is created and water flows into the toilet under pressure. And after the prescribed 6 liters have flowed out, the pressure evens out and the water stops flowing.
On the merits and demerits of drukspühler
So, what is it about a push-down flush that can make you ditch the traditional cistern?
To begin with, the Drukspühler saves space significantly. The cistern requires at least 30 cm to move away from the wall, or even more. And the pressure drain is mounted on the wall without any deviations.
What's in the red? First of all, due to the national peculiarities of the work of housing and communal services, water periodically disappears from our water pipelines. There is no water - the drukspühler does not work. And if you can wait with washing or cooking, then natural necessities will not wait. And with a tank it would be easier - at least some stock.
In addition, for the normal functioning of the system, the pressure in the pipes must be from 1.5 to 5 atmospheres. And for the upper floors of high-rise buildings, this can be an unattainable luxury. However, there are Drukspühlers specially adapted for low pressure.
The second problem is a very noisy device. That is, all household members will know for sure that you have finished your business in the bathroom. For some, this is not a problem, because there is enough noise in our life even without draining, while for others it can be a decisive moment in choosing.
Saving water with a drukspühler
Natural resources need to be saved - this is already a harsh reality. And the manufacturers of the push flush have also thought about it. As with modern flush cisterns, the Drukspühler has two buttons for a large and a small flush.
Operation and repair of the pressure drain
It is safe to say that Drukspühlers break much less often than conventional flush cisterns, since the flush device in the cisterns is usually made of plastic, which is a fragile material by default. But in the pressure drain, the steel parts and the inner cartridge can be replaced if necessary.
And this device will generally last 1.5-2 times longer than the usual drain. Not bad considering the rest of its merits.
