Gardeners knowingly love these flowers, because they are able to decorate the garden and fill it with wonderful scents all summer and even autumn. But while they are quite capricious in breeding, so you need to consider all the subtleties.

How to save cuttings of roses in the soil?

Rosy roses are often drunk in June and July. But if you do not want to cut already flowering branches, then you should do it in the autumn months. After trimming the bushes for the winter, you get good cuttings. The mother plant should be healthy, with shoots thick in a pencil. It is these people who have a great chance to get accustomed to the future. Cut must be precise movements, sharpened tools. Before the procedure they should be rubbed with alcohol and lowered into boiling water to sterilize. The upper part of the cut should be left even, and at the bottom the cut should be made chamfered to distinguish them.

Cuttings can be planted in a special temporary place for plants. But it is more preferable to immediately on a permanent one, so that the cutting should not be transplanted. It is planted in the ground at a 45-degree angle, with only one-third remaining on the surface. Then the plant should be covered with a plastic bottle without a bottom and with small holes on the sides for good ventilation. In the southern regions, you can leave it. In conditions of a more severe climate it is necessary to cover with foliage or lutrasilom.

Another option to keep cuttings of roses is to bury them in small holes. It is convenient to use this method when there is no possibility to immediately plant the plants. You need to make a small groove in the ground, about 15 cm, and put a cotton cloth on the bottom. Then you should prepare the shoots, that is, cut off the leaves from them. Then arrange them in a pit, always at a distance from each other. It is important that there are gaps between them. In conclusion, they must be covered with another piece of cloth and covered with earth.

In order to find a place with dug cuttings in the spring, it should be marked with pegs. If there are several varieties of roses, they can be marked with multi-colored ribbons to avoid confusion when planting. After the end of winter, when the earth recoils, cuttings should be carefully excavated. On each of them will be noticeable build-up. This means that they are well preserved and can be planted.

How to use moss?

You can also save cuttings of roses in winter using moss sphagnum. It must be treated with faosporin, and the lower sections of the plant - a growth stimulator. Then the branches are wrapped in moss, packed in a plastic bag and left in a refrigerator or other cool place until spring.

In the first days of March, the rooting of the cuttings should begin. They get out of the moss and clean the thorns. Prepare a special box: the bottom is lined with moss, from above pour river sand with a layer of about 3 cm. It must be pre-washed. After this, the branches can be planted so that one or two kidneys remain above the ground. They cover with a plastic bag, having made in it enough apertures for good circulation of air. Sprouts should be placed in a warm, bright place, but not under direct sunlight. It is necessary to monitor the moisture of the soil: if it dries, then the package needs to be removed and sprayed on the plant and the soil around it.

Rooting in potatoes

Rooting cuttings of roses can also be found in potato tubers. This is a fairly reliable method, because thanks to nutrients and starch they are well received and multiply. Tuber should be chosen of medium size, with no visible damage. It is treated with a fungicide and the eyes are removed. You need to prepare and stalk: remove most of the leaves, grease the cut with a solution of potassium permanganate. It is good to put aloe in juice for 12 hours: so the plant gets drunk with moisture, and the cut remains fresh. Growth stimulants can also be used. Then in the potatoes make a groove in which the stalk is placed.

Advice

The upper part can be sealed with paraffin, melting the candle in a water bath.

A tuber with a germ is instilled in a small opaque pot and poured with an unsaturated solution of potassium permanganate. You can also drop it into a bag and hang it on the window. In a couple of weeks, it will be noticeable that the kidney has gone to growth. It is important to regularly water the cuttings of roses. Once a week it is desirable to feed with water with sugar, for this, a tablespoon of sugar is dissolved in a glass of water. A similar procedure will provide the sprout with carbohydrates. A month after planting, it is necessary to make complex fertilizers.

Cuttings in a pot must be covered with a jar large enough that the leaves do not touch the glass. Watering should be qualitative, it is better to choose a drip method of spraying. The soil must be constantly slightly moist. Simultaneously with the appearance of shoots, the roots will develop. After two or three weeks should begin to accustom the plant to open air. First, the jar covered with the sprout is slightly raised and fixed in this position. The time of this procedure is gradually increased. Then it is completely removed for a short while, as slowly stretching these periods. When the flower gets used to the open air space, the can is removed permanently. Take it a few days.

It's not worth hurrying to get out of the pot. Do this in the spring, then by autumn you can get a full bush. When buds appear, they are removed.

Winter on the balcony

Preservation of cuttings of roses in winter is possible on the balcony. This method is especially relevant for residents of urban apartments.

  • After the first autumn frost, pruning cuttings with two or three buds occurs. The size should be about 20 cm.
  • In a plastic bucket, it is necessary to pour a thick layer of clay, then - the ground for roses. It is useful to mix it with Perlite.
  • Prepared soil should be slightly moistened.
  • Each cutting should be cut into water, then into powder to stimulate growth. Then place in a previously excavated hole.
  • Next, you need to wrap the bucket with cellophane and secure it with the clothes pegs. Then the bucket should be wrapped in warm blankets.
  • Now the whole structure can be taken out to the balcony and put in the warmest and brightest spot. If the floor is cement, then under the bucket should be laid foam or planks.
  • Do not often water the plants. In good sunny weather, you can give them a little breathe: remove clothespins and sprinkle with water, which is added "Epin".Close the bag only after completely drying.
  • With strong night frosts( below 20 degrees), sprouts are better placed in the room.
