Practice shows that, despite the availability of harvesters, blenders and other devices for grinding products, many housewives continue to use the most common grater today. Accessories are really very comfortable, if not for one "but".
During cooking, you do not want to waste time cleaning the device, and after everything is ready, you have to spend a lot of time removing the dried up dirt. Many people try to immediately soak the product in warm water, so that later it would be easier to wash the surface, but this does not save it from clogging the tiny cracks. Within a few weeks the material from this begins to darken, the accessory is no longer as good at coping with its tasks.
Recommendations for the treatment of graters immediately after using
Ideally, the tool must be processed in a special way, as soon as free time is available. Manipulation consists of the following stages:
- First we prepare everything necessary: a lemon or a tuber of raw potatoes, a dishwashing liquid, an unnecessary toothbrush, a nylon brush.
- It is necessary to hold the grater for a couple of minutes in a container with a solution of warm water and a dishwashing liquid.
- We take the grater and wipe it with a cut of potato or lemon on all sides.
Tip: If you use a small amount of butter on the surface of a grater before using it, the pieces of food will not dry out on the metal, and even after an hour they will wash off without any difficulties.
- Wet the nylon brush and drip a few drops of dishwashing liquid. With this tool you need to wash the product from all sides, working solely in the direction of the holes.
- If the pieces of food are still somewhere stuck, we clean them with a damp toothbrush.
- Thoroughly rinse the product, soak and expose it to dry. Remove the device into the cabinet only after it has completely dried.
Approach is rather troublesome, but effective. When it is used, the surface of the grater will remain for a long time not only attractive, but also functional. And the food will not acquire unnecessary notes and flavors, which have passed from once processed products.
How to wash the grater from dried particles?
If all the terms have come out and the pieces of products have firmly clung to the grater, do not rub it with a metal sponge, knife or other dubious objects. It is better to use one very simple approach that will help to quickly restore and update even small threads.
Given the specificity of the method, it can only be used for metal tetraxes without any inserts.
- We will need: a dirty grater, a deep plate and a microwave. In addition, we prepare a detergent and a soft sponge.
- In the dish we pour water, put the grater on the plate so that the most contaminated surfaces are located at the top and bottom.
- We put all this construction in a microwave and run for no less than a quarter of an hour. Do not be afraid that the product will melt, the apparatus simply does not have enough for this power.
- After the time comes out, we extract the product. It only remains to wash it under running water using a mild detergent and a sponge.
- Repeat the procedure if necessary until all dirt has disappeared from the surface of the device.
Of course, you should not abuse the latter method. High temperatures, and even in combination with moisture can adversely affect the quality of metal, accelerate the process of its decomposition or the appearance of corrosion. It is better to regularly clean the product, properly dry and store. By the way, in the dishwasher the graters do not pass the necessary processing, it is better to do their cleaning by hand.
