Types of massage tables

Today, you can find on the market a large number of models of massage tables, which are conventionally divided into folding( portable) and stationary. And now consider each option in more detail.

Stationary

Such tables are incredibly convenient design, but at the same time are considered too dimensional, heavy and difficult to bear. That is why they are used mainly in beauty salons, medical institutions, inpatient departments and offices.

These models are equipped with movable headrests that improve the position of the head and neck, which certainly positively affects the quality of the massage.

Important! They are produced from hardwood and hard steel. They are quite expensive because of the versatility and good quality of the structure.

Folding

Such massage tables are more often used at home, mainly by masseurs who either accept customers at home or leave for calls. They are easy, compact and fast to fold.

Important! In folded form, such a table can be safely put in the trunk of the car, and it weighs no more than 20 kilograms.

The legs in the device are perfectly adjustable, so you can even install it on an uneven surface. Due to low cost, ease of assembly and ease, such models are incredibly popular.

Massage couches

This is the simplest version of the portable device. Such models are produced without additional details and they are not regulated in height. There are options for couches that fold in the middle and have a special hole for the face.

On such tables it is possible to do medical, cosmetic, training and regenerative massage.

Important! Do not forget that before carrying out any kind of massage, it is necessary to adjust the legs so that the table is in a horizontal position at the correct height. Depending on the direction of the procedure, you should also install the headrest at the desired angle. In the presence of armrests, they are also recommended to be adjusted.

Tips from the professionals for making massage tables

If you have already found information on how to make a massage table yourself, then before committing a crime to work, be sure to read the recommendations of specialists to avoid any additional questions during the course of the work.

General tips for producing a massage device:

  1. The most important requirement that any massage table should match is that a person with any weight and composition should freely fit on it. The masseur must also have free access to the client from all sides. Therefore, you need to make sure that the corners are not too bulging, so that later they do not rest on his stomach.
  2. The design must be firm and sturdy to withstand a load of up to 250 kilograms. People who know this, for sure, know that for the effectiveness of treatment, it is necessary to exert a lot of effort, and weak equipment can not withstand such loads for a long time.

Important! Do not forget about the safety of your customers. The frame must be made of hard wood or light metal.

  1. The bed itself should be maximally ergonomic, because if the patient is uncomfortable, it will constantly strain and there will be no sense from the massage. And female representatives in general, even during the procedure, worry about their makeup, so there must be a face-out in the table. This must be taken into account when drawing a massage table.
  2. The quality of the internal filling of the table is of great importance. It is better if it is polyurethane or foam rubber of the highest density level. Ideal - a mixed type of filler.

Stages of making a table for a massage at home

And now we will look at step by step how to make a folding massage table with our own hands. Drawings printed on paper are laid out so that each element is well visible, and we proceed to work.

This process includes several steps.

Assembling table top

Everything begins with the manufacture of the base of the table:

  1. Mark the segments of the given sizes on both pieces of plywood and cut them using electric jigsaw of the workpiece.
  2. Thoroughly clean the ends with sandpaper.
  3. In one of the workpieces we saw a hole for the face.
  4. To make a rounding, you can use a lid from a pan or a plate.
  5. Then cut out the frame for the countertop.
  6. We connect with the help of self-tapping workpiece, so that in the end you have two frames of specified dimensions.
  7. Pre-drill a hole in the fasteners so that the screws do not crack under the screws.
  8. We assemble the frames, we attach the lids to them with the help of screws or nails.

Upholstery worktops

At this stage, we take care of the comfort of customers. So:

  1. Apply glue to the table top and put foam rubber on top.
  2. When it completely dries, cut off excess pieces around the edges.
  3. Carefully cut out the oval hole for the face.
  4. We lay artificial leather on foam rubber, at the same time we carefully tighten it, and wrap the edges behind the frame.
  5. Stapler attach it to the bar, while observing the step of 10 millimeters.
  6. We form neat angles so that there are no wrinkles.
  7. On the one hand( short), we definitely leave room for the installation of loops.

Manufacture of legs

According to the drawing of the massage table:

  1. We cut two sets of billets out of a bar so that in each of them there are six bars.
  2. We collect two main supports, for this purpose we fasten three parts with the help of self-tapping screws.
  3. At an angle of 40 degrees, cut the bottom ends of the longest blanks.
  4. Then we connect two more supports in the middle, and the grooves are made using a chisel or saw.
  5. Their upper corners are cut at an angle of 30 degrees.
  6. On piano loops we collect all supports and fasten with screws.

Important! As a result, you should get two completely identical set of legs. We must check that they develop and do not have any distortions.

Assembling the structure:

  1. On the inside of the frame we draw a marking for the piano loops.
  2. We fix them with screws, join frames and table tops.
  3. We screw the fastener into the middle hole and check that there are no distortions when folding.
  4. If all is well, then screw the screws at the sides.
  5. We support the frame to the frame.
  6. We connect the two halves of the structure with the help of loops, which are located near the ends of the cover.
  7. We attach loops to the screws so that the halves can easily fold.
  8. We connect the two halves of the table using the hinges.

Making of struts

This part is necessary for the massage table to be more stable and its height can be adjusted:

  1. We connect the short ends with a piano loop and as a result we get a long spacer. And remember: the shorter the spacer, the higher your table will be.
  2. To the short sides of the legs of the massage table we fasten the ends of each element with the help of the same loops and screws.
  3. We lay out the structure and check the strength of the table.
  4. From the front sides we set the latches, thanks to which the table in the folded form will have a compact shape.
  5. We attach the handle for transporting the massage table from above.

That's all, a fairly simple drawing of the massage table has become a functional and comfortable equipment for medical and cosmetic procedures.
