- Temporary covers
- Making a cork yourself
There are times when you need to improvise on the go. Let's say your favorite child dreams about a bath almost the same way you do about a cup of coffee, and the bath tube is lost for nothing. What to do, if at this moment you need to think up how to make a stopper for a bathroom with your own hands? Of course, there is no point in reinventing the ship, if it is already done for you. You can just go to the store and buy a new cork for the bathroom. You can hastily come up with something to temporarily solve the problem, but you can try and come up with some kind of original cork for the bath with your own hands, which no one will have. Let's look at all the options available.

For a temporary stopper, you can use:
- A piece of styrofoam cut to the size of the drain hole.
- The fastest, but most short-lived way to make a stopper for a bathroom is to crumple a newspaper or a piece of paper. Just need to push the paper very tightly, so that the self-made gag lasted longer.
- You can slightly complicate the way: pour tightly the paper, giving it the desired shape, then dry it, and then tie the bags, at the maximum removing the air from them.
Important! You need to use 3-4 packets to close the access of water to the paper, then the bucket will last a longer time.
- For a while, you can plug the hole with what's at hand, for example, a toe or even a few, if one is not enough. Simply crumple one or more socks into a ball and plug them with a hole.
- You can stuff a sock with fine salt or sand, and wrap it with a cellophane bag. Pour the filling into the sock should be in small quantities. Thanks to them, the sock will take the desired shape and reliably hold water in the bathroom.
- If you have foil at hand, crumple it into a ball, close the drain hole with this ball. The size of the ball should be slightly larger than the hole in the sink itself. Such a bucket holds water well, but it is disposable.
Important! Do not regularly use this method, it will cost you more than just buy a new cork.
- It is possible to adapt any children's toys of a suitable size under the closure. But, of course, they must be made of a material that does not allow water to pass through. For example, it could be a ball of suitable diameter.
- Crumble the dishwashing sponge, put it in a bag and insert it into the drain hole - the temporary plug is ready.
- Cover the outlet with a plastic cup or folded several times with a wet rag.
Make a cork yourself
How to make a gag for the bathroom? There are several options.
Method 1
To make a bathtub plug you will need a piece of wood:
- Remove the size of the drain diameter and transfer it to the bar.
- Cut out the cork, treat it with sandpaper.
- Then you will need to process your plug with hydrophobic impregnation several times so that it does not swell from the water.
Important! From above, it is necessary to make a hole and insert a cord or chain there so that it is easier to pull the plug out of the hole.
Method 2
There is another option - make a stopper for the bathroom from wine corks. To do this, connect a few plugs together, evenly cutting off from them those edges with which they will be connected together.
Important! In the middle, there should not be any crevices in such a closure, otherwise there will be a leakage of water.
Method 3
A good gag is obtained from an old flip-flop, but there will be a lot of work to cut out the cork of the correct diameter. You can cut it with a clerical knife, you need to finish this stub with sandpaper.
Method 4
Take any child's ball, cut it in half, insert a string, chain or nylon thread and fill with mounting silicone. For beauty, you can decorate this whole thing with a picture or a colored liner.
Important! The main thing is that silicone is absolutely safe for human health.
Method 5
The silicone plug can also be made in another way:
- Place the cellophane bag in the drain hole and pour in the silicone.
- In the middle we place a chain or a string.
- We wait until the silicone dries, and then we take out the bag and extract the silicone.
Method 6
If you have a billiard ball lying around at home, you can drain it by the size of the drain hole and an improvised gag is ready.
As you can see, making a plug for draining in a bath is not at all difficult, you just need to stock up on fantasy and some simple instruments.
