How to wash coffee off clothes - 10 ways

A catastrophe happened, did you overturn a cup of your favorite drink? There is no time to think about how to get a stain out of coffee - you need to act as soon as possible! Regardless of what has been affected: a white blouse, a woolen sweater or even a carpet, in our selection you will definitely find a way that will help to wash the stains from the coffee in your situation.

Boiling water and hot water

Of course, ideally it is necessary to soak a thing immediately after the formation of a coffee stain, but this is not always feasible. But to substitute under a stream of hot or warm water only the stained area at you, most likely, will turn out: keep a stain under a stream while it will not be washed. If the stain does not go away completely, sprinkle it with salt and at home apply one of the methods listed below.

To be able to easily wash the already dried coffee, pour it with boiling water: slowly pour the hot water from the teapot onto the stain, and then wash as usual.

Advice

Please note that the steep boiling water can only be used on cotton or linen, as wool, silk and synthetics can spoil it.

Salt or soda ash

If the stain from the coffee is withered but not yet old, you can soak the product in a salt or soda solution for an hour or two, and then wash it with ordinary powder. Such a method can be applied to clothes of any color and from any fabric, but if the coffee is withered and eaten into fibers, then it will be necessary to switch to more heavy artillery.

Tip

Typically for a solution of 2 liters of water add 1 tbsp.l.salt or soda, but there will not be anything terrible if the concentration is slightly increased.

Mixtures with glycerin

In fact, even clean glycerin can help to wash stains from coffee, and in combination with other active ingredients it will be able to even the most complex coffee stain.

• Apply lightly warm glycerin to the soiling and leave it on clothing for 20-30 minutes. After washing in the machine from the stain there will be no trace!
• Mix the glycerin with the salt and rub the resulting gruel into a coffee stain. The time of exposure to the mixture is also about 30 minutes, after which the clothing is erased in the machine as usual.
• Replace glycerin with borax solution, which also effectively removes coffee.

Advice

After glycerol application, traces may remain, but they can easily be cleaned with ordinary household soap.

Ammonium alcohol

Ammonium alcohol is widely used in bleaching clothes and can help in removing stains of coffee. Do not use it in its pure form, as the tool is rather aggressive. Instead, use one of these blends to wash the coffee.

• Mix 1 tsp.glycerin, 1 tsp.ammonia and 1 tbsp.l.water. Dampen the cotton swab in the solution and pat the contamination.
• In a glass of water, dilute 1 tsp.ammonia and about 20 grams of soap chips. Soak the stain with a solution and leave for 15-20 minutes. After that, wash the thing in the typewriter, as usual.

Solutions with ammonia, despite the seeming aggressiveness, can be used on fastidious silk and wool products without the risk of spoiling the thing.

Advice

Using ammonia, pay close attention to rinsing clothing, otherwise a pungent odor will remain on the dried product.

Whitening

If the white thing has suffered and the stain from the coffee has been completely washed off using the above methods, the stale coffee can be simply whitened. To do this, any familiar means: "Whiteness", peroxide or even boiling, if a thing is made of cotton or flax.

Council

Many mistresses replace "Belizna" with "Domestos", which also has chlorine in the composition, since they consider it to be more effective.

Vinegar

A mixture of equal parts of vinegar, water and detergent applied to the stain can help to wash even a very heavily soiled thing. Apply the solution to the contamination, wait 5-10 minutes and rinse the product thoroughly. Also, a solution of vinegar and water( 1: 1) is convenient to handle a soiled sofa or carpet of any color.

Tip

If the product( for example, a sofa or carpet) can not be put under a stream of water, try using napkins to remove as much coffee from the pile or upholstery. This will greatly facilitate further manipulation of the spot.
