Modern home appliances are not immune from various kinds of breakdowns, which deliver a lot of worries to its users. For example, if you notice that your washing machine is constantly gaining water during washing, you will certainly understand that something is wrong with it, and you want to take measures to solve the problem. And really, to delay repairs in this situation is a big waste, considering how much water will be wasted, as well as the prices for the services of the water canal. The first thing that comes to mind most people immediately is to ask a repairman for household appliances. But such a decision is not always the best, because sometimes you can fix everything by yourself. This will depend on the nature of the fault that has occurred.
Reasons for
Speaking in general, there are three main reasons why a washing machine automatically collects and releases water when it erases.
- Incorrect connection of drain hose to sewer.
- Failure of the priming or discharge valve.
- Malfunction associated with a sensor that monitors the fluid level that is being dialed into the machine.
But it is unlikely that you will benefit from the above dry list of reasons that can cause abnormal operation of the washing unit. Therefore, it is worthwhile to learn in more detail how these faults affect the fact that the automatic machine continuously accumulates and descends the working fluid.
It is considered that the device is correctly connected to the sewage system if the drain hose is connected to it not directly but through a siphon and its end is fixed above the working drum of the unit, that is, at a height of about 60 cm from the floor. Typically, if the hose is lowered directly into the sewer, the working tank in the washing machine is constantly dialed and released when it is started. This problem is usually detected immediately after installing a new, recently purchased device. Perhaps, when connecting the hose, the principle of "the simpler, the better" was guided and ignored certain requirements of the operating instructions.
With regard to the priming and drain valves, their malfunction is usually associated with the electromagnetic shutter installed inside them. This mechanism is controlled by the electronic control system in the washing machine. It initiates the supply of voltage to the coil, which draws in the magnetic rod, thereby acting on the membrane opening the valve opening. When the pouring or water discharge is over, the coil's power is turned off and the spring returns the membrane to its original position, closing the hole. The essence of the valve malfunction can be that:
- burned the coil,
- lost the elasticity of the membrane,
- became a weaker spring.
If the spring has loosened or the membrane of the fill valve has deteriorated, the washing machine will always fill up even when it is off.
The fill level sensor in the washing machine is called a pressure switch. It responds to the pressure change in the system and transmits the signal to the control center, which turns the supply and drain of the liquid on or off. The pressostat can send incorrect signals to the "brain" of the unit if a clog has appeared in the internal hydrocirculation system of the machine, which affects the pressure indices. The same result can be if the tightness is broken - for example, a crack appeared in the tube connected to the pressostat.
What can I do in this or that situation?
First of all, you need to make sure that the drain hose is connected correctly, if you did not install the machine yourself. Sometimes this is difficult to do, since various kinds of furniture and other interior items can interfere with the free viewing of hydrocommunications. But in this case, it is not necessary to move the night tables and tables or dismantle the partition behind which the sewer pipes are located.
You can simply follow these steps.
- Turn on the washing machine and let it collect water.
- When the drum is full, move the device to the drain.
- In the middle of the operation, pause it by setting the pause mode.
- Follow the further fluid behavior in the drum.
If you notice that it continues to decrease constantly, it means that the hose is connected incorrectly. If the level remains the same, then the reason lies in the valve or pressure switch.
Checking the drain valve is also not difficult. Its terminals need to be freed from the wires and connect to them 220 V from an external power source. If the valve is working properly, you will hear a click, after which water will flow from the drain pipe.
Advice
Please note that before starting such a test, the liquid is first dialed into the machine to have something to release. And immediately prepare a container for draining.
If nothing has happened, the coil probably has burnt out, and the valve needs to be replaced. Replacement of this part will have to be carried out when the membrane or spring has become unusable. Their malfunction will be indicated by the fact that the water will constantly drain through the drain valve, even if the washing machine is turned off.
It is possible to check the work of the pressure switch by releasing it from the tube coming to it and unscrewing the retainer holding it. If you blow inside, the details of the work will be indicated by the clicks of the switch in it.
Board
Blow into the pressostat is not very strong, because you can spoil it.
Check also the hose that interfaces with the sensor for cracks, punctures or blockages. If it turns out that the part or the hose connected with it needs to be replaced, then contact the household appliances repair service and purchase a new spare part. Its replacement does not require special experience or great efforts. And having corrected in time the machine, you prevent premature failure of the heating element and do not suffer financially, wasting a lot of water and powder.
