These houses also have disadvantages. The most painful one is communication. Practical Khrushchev
The capital construction of Stalin's times was replaced by massive construction - Khrushchev's. The task was specific: to provide each family with an apartment as much as possible. So the Khrushchev buildings were erected in record time. They did not differ in architectural delights. Why are Khrushchevs so attractive? This is a budget option that can easily be mastered by a family, even with a lower-than-average income.
Khrushchev buildings were usually limited to five floors, so it is quite cozy here, on the site there are only 3-4 apartments.
The disadvantages of Khrushchevs are well known: they are modest living space, combined small bathrooms and, what is most unpleasant, tiny kitchens. Add to this very poor sound and heat insulation.
It should also be noted that due to the high speed of construction of Khrushchevs, the warranty period for their life was limited to 25 years. So now this housing stock falls under the renovation program.
Brezhnevka: improved Khrushchev
The Brezhnev era still sought to provide the population with housing as much as possible, but more comfortable than in the days of Khrushchev. These houses differ in number of storeys, they are higher than panel five-storey buildings.
Brezhnevkas have garbage chutes, elevators, spacious entrances. But the “diseases” of the Brezhnevs are the same as those of the Khrushchevs: poor noise and heat insulation.
