"How is it not to sew up?" - many will be indignant. Indeed, looking at these ugly pipes and listening to the murmur every day is not the greatest pleasure. It is much easier to make an elementary frame from slats and sew it up with drywall - both beautiful and quiet, and no problems. But stop, just problems will appear, and not one, but four. And you can bet that in a year (or even earlier) you will be puzzling over how to fix this dull construction. So what can you face.

If you talk to any professional plumber, he will tell you directly that if the sewer pipes and start to flow, then this happens either at the joints, or in the most inconvenient place - where the plates are located overlap. And you will be able to detect this leak only by smell, and the stench will be exceptional. There is no puddle, everything seems to be working, and the stench in the bathroom is such that it hurts your eyes.

While you think of it and are going to disassemble the box, the situation can develop into a disaster. And by the way, it can still flow to your floor if the neighbor below foamed or cemented the cracks in the riser.

A blockage has formed

And again, the plumbing experience: what people don't throw into the sewers - you will be surprised. The risers are clogged up tightly, and this is fraught with the loss of amenities for a long time. Ever carried buckets from the fifth floor while waiting for the plumbers?

And the reason can be a simple toothpick, and a roll of toilet paper, which the naughty kid flushed down the toilet. To remedy the situation, the riser has to be disassembled, and this must be done as quickly as possible. No one will stand behind you with their arms folded as you carefully unscrew the drywall.

It makes no sense to sew up if you live in Khrushchev

If you are the owner of an apartment in the old fund, do not start sewing up the riser at all. Most likely, you have old cast-iron pipes, and the turn of major repairs and their replacement is about to reach your house. Khrushchev and Stalin's buildings have already been scheduled to replace communications, because all reasonable terms of their operation have already passed.

Problems with the law: and this can be

The sewer riser is a common property in the house, and you, by law, have no right to block access to it. Do not believe me - read article 30 of the RF LC. It says that each owner is obliged to maintain a bathroom in an appropriate technical condition, including communications.

Necessity means an emergency or replacement of communications during planned repairs. The issue of resolving such situations is stipulated in the Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 354 of May 6, 2011.

And finally, Article 29 of the RF LC prohibits the owner from unauthorized re-planning or rebuilding of premises, including bathrooms. And if the utilities demand to remove the barrier, you will be obliged to demolish it immediately.

So what do we get as a result? Waste on the box and tiles, plus the work of the master, the risk of missing a leak, the inability to cope with the blockage or replace the pipes, and besides, troubles with utilities. Is it worth it? It is much easier to make not a blind box, but other structures, more mobile and safer.
