Someone may find it incredible that some of the metal banknotes now in circulation have a relatively high cost. Several factors play a role here:

  1. The year of issue of the nominal. If, for example, 5 rubles in 2003 were issued in a limited edition, this makes the coin valuable and of considerable interest to collectors.
  2. Varieties of metal currency also make them rare. It happens that a coin of one year of issue and denomination differs from others. This increases its cost in tens and hundreds of times.
  3. Marriage. Coins that have a beautiful or rare type of marriage are actively bought up by numismatists and the price for them can be quite high.

The cost of coins depends on the degree of safety, and at different auctions price tags can differ. Therefore, in our rating we will take into account the average value of bank notes of the Bank of Russia.
