History of purchasing an apartment in "Stalinka"
Being pregnant with her second child, Valeria Gai Germanika was finally able to buy a spacious apartment in one of the capital's "Stalinoks". But soon after a successful deal, she found herself in a difficult financial situation, in addition, it was during this period that a difficult divorce from her husband fell.
For several years, Valeria got out of the crisis, lived with tattered walls with two young children, until she got on her feet and improved her financial situation. Finally, the director was able to turn to a professional designer and hire a construction team to carry out the overhaul.
The main mistake in repairing an apartment
The most important mistake in the repair was the lack of professionalism of the builders. The craftsmen spoke Russian poorly and did not always understand what instructions the designer was giving them. In addition, they used preliminary sketches instead of the final design.
For example, in the bathroom one of the walls had to be made of glass blocks. The craftsmen did not understand and erected it right in the middle of the room. When Valeria returned from a business trip, she saw that there were two from one room.
Valeria was not ready to dismantle the partition, so she connected all her creativity. With the help of the designer, they decided to make the walls semi-circular to accommodate all the plumbing. So it turned out two rooms, in one of which a shower stall was installed, in the other - a bathroom bowl. The gap between the wall was concreted and decorated with a small bas-relief.
Creative ideas in the bedroom
Renovation of the bedroom was also not without problems. The workers needed to glue the wallpaper, but they did not understand the instructions and began to clean the walls of plaster, moreover, using an ax. When the director entered the room, about a third of the surface was hopelessly spoiled. And here the creative of the designer came to the rescue. The walls were not re-finished, but simply covered with colorless varnish to fix the remnants of the plaster.
The doors to the bedroom of Valeria Gai Germanicus were painted in a bright red color, for the frames they chose a shade of fuchsia. The canvas so harmoniously blended into the interior that the designer decided to make the rest of the door structures in the same range. Created in the room stucco in the form of two chanterelles, between which a bouquet of burdock was fixed.
Finishing materials and equipment
For the interior decoration of the apartment, finishing materials from the middle price segment were used, but the responsible items and components were entrusted to trusted manufacturers. For example, a deep bathtub of the Roca brand from Spain, the company has established itself well in our market, in addition, they could pick up a non-standard configuration only in the catalog of this company.
Since the apartment was still of Stalinist construction, all the windows had to be changed at once. Here Valeria did not save money and chose reliable structures with a manufacturer's warranty for at least fifty years.
She also approached the choice of paints with all responsibility, especially after the workers ruined more than one can. Valeria settled on the Kansai company, which offered a full range of enamels: from interior to moisture resistant with antibacterial protection.

Unexpected interior decorating ideas
When choosing furniture, Valeria did not spend a lot of money on designer items. The director decided to buy more budgetary counterparts of domestic manufacturers and independently finalize their design. So, for example, sofas made in Belarus, she upholstered with velvet. In one of the shopping centers, the director bought 14 luxurious chandeliers, which cost her only 25,000 rubles.
