Objects that are exposed to heat, in fact, do not hold the paint well. On batteries, stoves, barbecues, the paint rises in bubbles and peels off quickly. The problem is known, and to solve it, a heat-resistant paint is needed, that is, one that is not afraid of high temperatures. There are such paints on sale, but it's easy to compose them yourself, simply by adding the necessary ingredients. Let's figure out how to do it.

Why are heat resistant paints so expensive
This is pure marketing. Heat resistant paint is an expensive commodity simply because managers are confident in your worth. A person who has the money to equip a fireplace in the house will find it for paint as well.
Can I paint fireplace ordinary paint? It is possible, of course, but in addition to bubbles, you will also have an unpredictable darkening, because the drying oil in the composition of ordinary paints is very sensitive to an increase in temperature.
By the way, it is especially worth recommending the KO85 varnish, if you decide to leave the fireplace with brickwork and just emphasize it with a varnish sheen.
Iron sulfate paint
The first option for homemade heat-resistant paint involves the use of ferrous sulfate (ferrous sulfate) and tar as a base.
Bring the tar to a boil. Since the base has a pungent specific smell, it is better to heat the tar in the fresh air.
The best result with this paint can be achieved if it is applied directly hot to a preheated oven.
Grandfather's paint with eggs
Our great-grandfathers used to paint the stoves with this composition. To make the paint, only natural ingredients are required, namely milk and egg whites. Protein from 8 eggs is added to a glass of milk, tooth powder or chalk is poured into the paint for color.
Heat resistant lime paint
To paint iron potbelly stove, you can make paint based on ordinary lime. To bind the lime powder, wood glue is used. Chalk powder is added to this paint for good hiding power.
Heat-resistant silver paint
You can easily find the ingredients for this paint at any hardware store. You will need aluminum powder, popularly - "silver", and the so-called liquid glass - silicate glue. The ratio of ingredients is about 10 g of silver per glass of liquid glass.
Mix the ingredients in a suitable container and paint. Be prepared for the fact that such paint dries almost instantly, after 15 minutes there will already be a stable non-stick layer. For reliability, you need to brush twice, and after painting it is better to immediately heat the fireplace or stove. This homemade paint will not darken over time.
