The principle of operation of the wood splitter consists in a movable lever with a cleaver and a weighting agent. To make it easier to operate this lever, an automobile spring is installed, which will return the heavy lever to its place.

For the spring mechanism, you need to prepare a platform from a piece of rolled metal at a height of about 60 cm

To prevent the spring from jumping off, a piece of pipe is placed on the site, which will be a retainer. The pipe diameter must match the inner diameter of the spring

The lower platform for the spring is stationary, but the upper one, with the same retainer, must move up and down. To do this, it is mounted on a hinge.
