Meanwhile, glass can become the basis for creating an art object due to its special properties of transmitting light. So, the lamp will be made from the remnants of window glass. The thickness of the canvas does not really matter: just the thicker the glass, the fewer parts you need to cut out of it.
A ruler and a corner will come in handy for this purpose: you need to mark rectangular parts of the same size. See which size works best for your material.
You can use a traditional glass cutter, but it doesn't always work perfectly. The author used a homemade device that helps cut glass through contact with a hot wire. This is the author's own invention, and at the end of the material we will give a link to a video on how to make this tool.
In finished form, you need to arrange them not in an even pack, but in a figure with an offset, so that all the edges of the glass sparkle with a special light.
Assembly of the luminaire and preparation of the base
All pieces of glass must be connected together, but this must be done so as not to disturb the transparency of the material.
Apply the composition not over the entire surface, but only in the center of the part. Arrange all the pieces to form a spiral offset shape.
To emphasize the texture of the wood, you can burn the sanded workpiece. blowtorch and then cover it stain and varnish.
It is more convenient to use the tape, because it fits very compactly even in a small depression.
The Moment glue proved to be the best.
A small note: if you do not process the edges of each glass piece, the device will be potentially dangerous. Be especially vigilant if you have children. In this situation, it is best to sand the edge of each element.
So, from broken window glass you can make a real work of art that will decorate any interior. If you want to "play" with glass, you can paint it with stained glass paints, or lay a colored film between the glasses. In theory, something similar can be made of colored plastic.
