The President signed a new Federal Law on fines for unauthorized redevelopment. The corresponding document was published on the official Internet portal of legal information. According to the new law, those apartment owners who have arbitrarily redeveloped or reconstructed their apartment or house face a fine of up to 50 thousand rubles. Moreover, a fine can be imposed on both an individual and an organization if the premises were converted without permission and in violation of building codes.
Fines for citizens will be from 2 to 2.5 thousand rubles, for officials - from 4 to 5 thousand rubles, for legal entities and persons engaged in entrepreneurial activity without forming a legal entity - from 40 thousand to 50 thousand rubles.
A similar fine may be imposed for the use of the premises for other purposes, for example, for storage or for arranging a swimming pool in an apartment. Previously, the legislation did not establish responsibility for the redevelopment of non-residential premises.
