Walking on skis is a wonderful kind of rest in winter. Even if you are a fan of summer heat and beach pastime, ski jogging is unlikely to be rejected. And those who do not think themselves without this sport, and do not have to say. Skiing is becoming more popular. In the shops of sporting goods there is a rich assortment of accessories associated with it. In this article, let's look at the details of how to mount a ski mount for shoes.
to the contents ↑A bit about the sport equipment
The choice of equipment largely depends on the style of riding: mountain, plain walks or long hikes. In each of these cases, you need a certain kind of ski. If the beginner athlete requirements for inventory are minimal, then for experienced skiers they are incomparably higher. When buying equipment, such nuances are taken into account, of which "teapots" even have no idea.
The most popular type of ski is running. The reason is quite understandable. A skier needs certain places to ride. And running can also be used for skiing in a forest or a city park - if only the weather was suitable. In addition to special sportswear, skis and sticks, you need to purchase attachments for shoes.

Anchorages are an important part of the design of skis. Through the attachment, the force is transferred from the foot to the ski. Different models differ in their device, so it is quite natural to ask how to install mounts on skis for shoes.
Important! People of the older generation remember the primitive models that could be worn on shoes. About any convenience it was not. At modern samples absolutely other problem - maintenance of stability and convenience at walking.
There are 3 types of fastening devices:
- Nordic Norm 75mm. These fasteners are also called winches. This is a morally obsolete model, which is gradually losing ground. Completely abandon it ham fans of this "retro" and people who are attracted to the low cost of the accessory.
- The NNN system developed by Roteffella is later. It consists of two longitudinal guides, fixing shoes.
- SNS is an innovative, high-level system with one longitudinal guide. This is the most convenient option. The foot completely controls the ski. Their cost is higher than NNN, but they significantly benefit in convenience and practicality.
To mount the fasteners, you can contact the specialists. However, this is not so difficult. You can completely cope with this work and yourself.
to the contents ↑tool kit Before attaching ski boots, prepare such tools( other than the skis themselves, naturally):
- Fasteners.
- Marking template.
- Ruler and markers for marking.
- Silo.
- Screwdriver.
- Adhesive PVA.
Procedure:
- First determine the center of gravity of the skis. Many manufacturing companies apply it right away, but experienced athletes do not trust this labeling, preferring to check on their own. Use the marker to mark this place.
Important! This precaution is not superfluous. With the correct determination of the center of gravity, the ride will be comfortable, the ski will not be "outweighed" to either side. The order of finding the center of gravity is extremely simple. Place the skis on the edge of the ruler and move until you get a "scales", parallel lines of the floor. The location of the center of gravity indicates the ruler.
- The resulting line coincides with the axis of the fastening device. Attach the mount to the surface of the ski, mark the desired position. If it is necessary to fix Nordic Norm 75, then on the marked line there will be screws of the bracket.
- The important thing is to correctly mark the holes. Here, often use a special conductor or paper template, which comes complete with fasteners.
- Proverb "measure seven times, cut once" works in this case absolutely. Before you start drilling, check the distance between the holes on the fasteners and between the markings. Naturally, they must coincide.
- The most critical moment is drilling. Typically, the instructions indicate the depth of drilling holes and the diameter of the drill.
Important! When drilling, the drill must be used at low speed.
- Blow out the drilled holes and fill with glue. Sometimes glue comes with bindings. If there is no special glue, PVA is quite suitable. The glue fills the microcracks formed during drilling, provides a waterproofing effect and improves fixation. However, some athletes argue that glue is absolutely not needed. Solve this issue for yourself.
Important! Epoxy should not be used because the solvent can damage the skis.
- Attach the fastener to the ski cloth again and begin to screw the screws. In the beginning - not very tight, to make sure that everything is installed correctly, and then - finally.
Important! For fastenings NN 75 it is necessary to insert a boot and to check up, how it is centered.
- Now it is only a little( about 10 hours) to wait until the glue dries completely.
Installation of ski boot bindings is not a difficult task, but requires patience and accuracy. Enjoy your walks and a good ski trail!
