Making a lava lamp with your own hands

So, before we consider how to make a lava lamp, you need to prepare all the necessary materials:

• A 2.5 cm thick board.
• A chuck with a wide china base.
• Light bulb for 75 watts.
• Insulating tape.
• Wire with plug.
• Empty wine bottle.
• Not damaged plug.
• Baby or plain vegetable oil.
• Artistic oil paints.
• Turpentine.
• Saw.
• Food coloring.
• Black paint in can.
• Furniture finish varnish.
• Ruler and protractor.
• Ring drills and drill.
• Simple pencil.

A lava lamp is produced at home in the following order:

• Connect the wire with the plug to the socket. To do this, cut the wire and carefully split it. First, remove about a centimeter of the protective top layer, attach the wire to the screws on the chuck.

• Make another square from the board so that its sides are 10 cm. Make a hole in the center so that it corresponds to the bottle in diameter. Drill with a ring drill. Thus, you will get a bottle holder, which you need to install on the stand.
• Using joinery glue, connect all the parts of the stand with each other. As a result, you will get a truncated pyramid. But keep in mind that you do not need to attach the lower part to the glue. This pyramid will be a lid that can be removed to replace a light bulb.
• Black paint paint the stand, let it completely dry. Then cover it with varnish.
• Wash the bottle thoroughly, remove the label and glue residues.
• Assemble the entire structure.
• Pour the lamp compound into the bottle.

Important! Almost always it is made on the basis of alcohol, and lava particles - an oil mixture. Due to the difference in density, these elements do not mix with each other. Inside the lamp they move due to the fact that the bulb is heated from the bulb.

Recipes of fillers
