Why do I need homemade powder?

New powders, gels, pastes and liquids for washing appear almost every month. However, on closer examination, it turns out that finding what you need is not really that easy. Either the powders contain not too useful substances, or the smell is too harsh, or the product is too expensive.

Make a washing powder yourself - safer, cheaper, and time will not take much. Not to mention the fact that you can do the kind of perfume you want.

The most harmful elements of factory powders

In industrial detergents there are always surfactants. Even if you thoroughly wash linens, they can not be removed completely - they are too firmly attached to the tissues. Add them to form foam and dissolve the fats.

Why are these substances harmful?

  1. Easily penetrate the body through the pores of the skin.
  2. Many people have such powders causing allergies.
  3. There is an opinion that they negatively affect the reproductive function.
  4. Causes metabolic disturbances.

Important! In many cases, phosphate is added to the powder. They soften the water, improve the quality of washing and enhance the effect of surfactants. However, for health, the compounds of metals with phosphoric acid are not particularly useful, and only increase the negative impact of surfactants.

Having made the powder yourself, you will be firmly sure that there are no harmful substances, and this is the main advantage of such detergents. Only natural products, harmlessness of which has been checked for centuries.

How to replace surfactants?

The main task of the detergent is to wash, that is, to remove impurities. What's the point, if it will be useful for health, and on panties and dresses there will be spots? But in a regular hardware store, pharmacy or hypermarket you will find a lot of very simple drugs, moreover, very cheap, which will successfully replace both surfactants and phosphates.

For most self-made detergents you will need:

  • household or baby soap;
  • drill;
  • baking soda;
  • calcined soda;
  • vinegar.

Household soap is good in that there are practically no additives in it. That is, it by definition can not cause allergies. Instead, you can take any toilet, but the best baby without flavors.

Buru can be bought at a pharmacy, at a chemical store or where you sell goods for gardeners. There you will also find soda ash - of course, it can be made at home from ordinary food, but this is not a very pleasant process.

For preparation of softeners or paste, vinegar is needed - a usual food, with a concentration of 3% or 9%.

Before taking on the job, take care of the necessary equipment. Surely you already have everything you need:

  • grater;
  • several bowls;
  • large glass jar or paper bag.

Features of simple substances

Baking soda has the ability to clean everything that gets caught without causing any special damage to objects. With fibers of the fabric, it comes in exactly the same way as with a kitchen sink or stove - cleans, but does not damage. In addition, it miraculously whitens and perfectly removes smells.

Important! The only thing to keep in mind is that soda sometimes "eats" the dye, so it's not worth using it for colored or black natural fabrics.

Calcined soda

This is a more effective remedy than baking soda. In principle, it is not necessary to add it, but if it is there - the washing will go faster.

Important! If it comes in the recipe of a powder for washing with your own hands, but you do not have the opportunity to buy this substance - just replace it with the same amount of baking soda.

Drill

This substance has several names:

  • sodium tetraborate;
  • boron sodium salt.

Bura perfectly cleanses the most diverse spots, and also has the property of disinfecting things. This is especially important if you are going to make powder for children's things.

Flavors

Fragrance is optional, but many like it when it smells of linen, lavender or anything else, just as pleasant. Nothing is impossible. You can add to your creation any essential oil.

By the way, natural oils not only give things the right flavor. They additionally disinfect the underwear and its specific effect:

  • tea tree oil prevents fungal lesions;
  • chamomile and lavender soothe;
  • eucalyptus softens the cough;
  • citrus - dissolve fats.

So you can do a new detergent powder every time for yourself, depending on what you need at the moment.

Important! Do not use perfume and deodorants for making detergents.

How to use self-made tools?

  • Detergent powders and pastes, prepared with their own hands, use exactly the same as the factory ones. Consumption is small - 1 glass of money per 5 kg of laundry.
  • If you wash in an automatic machine, the powder can be placed in both the container and the drum.
  • If you managed to grate the soap finely - pour the product into the tray, into the main wash compartment.
