Today, more and more often mistresses have to think about how to wash glassware, because products from this material every year become more in demand. Considering the fact that simultaneously with it the popularity of all natural grows, people try to wash objects of such personal use with the most safe formulations.

Despite the fact that most modern household chemicals are considered environmentally friendly and harmless to the human body, folk remedies are still in the lead. For example, to clean and make glassware shine, you can use a variety of improvised natural ingredients.

Than you need to wash glassware?

If you have drops of fat, food residues in the grooves and even lime scale, noticeably spoiling the glassware, you can use one of the following:

  • Food foil and baby soap. Take a piece of food foil and carefully crush it, turning it into a "metal sponge".We put the glass thing under a stream of hot water and begin to wipe its surface with foil. After the desired result is achieved, rinse the product with very warm water mixed with the shavings of baby soap. We rinse the dishes with a cool spray from the tap and rub with linen cloth.

Tip: To qualitatively and without excessive fuss wash products covered with obsolete fat, first they need to roll in a fine table salt and leave for half an hour. After that, we clean the dirt from the surface mechanically and proceed to cleaning with the help of one of the above methods.

  • Mustard powder. In the sink or basin we collect warm water, we plant in it 2 teaspoons of dry mustard powder. We prepare another basin with warm water. Objects of glass soaked in a mustard solution for literally five minutes. We take them one at a time and wipe them off with a damp cloth, then rinse with warm water. You do not need to wash things directly in mustard! If the first time to clean the dirt could not, repeat the whole procedure first.

  • Ammonium alcohol. Effective way to save the glassware from drops and stains so that it sparkles and shines. Just before the objects are used, soak them for one hour in a solution prepared from water and ammonia( a teaspoon of a substance for each liter of water). After that, gently with my soft cloth, wipe dry, do not rinse, and expose for half an hour to fresh air.

  • 9% vinegar. This method is best used immediately after using the dishes. Objects should be cleaned of food residues and soaked in a sink with warm water and two tablespoons of 9% vinegar. For maximum effect, each product should be washed for at least a minute. Then rinse the dishes in clean water and dry.

  • Baking soda. With its help you can quickly clean the massive products, covered with stains. First rinse it in warm water, then dipped wet cloth or sponge in soda and rub the surface for 1-2 minutes. Handled items should be washed first in warm, then in cold water. Shredded eggshell. With its help, you can easily wash from inside glass objects of everyday life, which have a narrow neck. We shred the washed and dried eggshell to the state of the powder, fall asleep in dirty dishes, add a little water, mixed with the shavings of baby soap. We tighten the neck and carefully shake the object for several minutes. Rinse it with warm, then cold water. If necessary, repeat again.

  • Potato chips. It can be used in the same way as in the previous method, or used for rubbing massive surfaces. The main thing is to wash gently with no strong pressure and rinse the product thoroughly with cold water.

The above methods allow not only to wash the glassware well, but also to prevent the formation of chips, stains, "rusty" spots on the surface.

How to make glass utensils stay clean and shiny longer?

A few centuries ago, people came up with how to handle glassware before using it to improve the resistance of products to external influences and dirt.

The procedure is called hardening and looks like this:

  1. Take a deep saucepan, pour a layer of sand onto its bottom.
  2. We spread the glassware in one layer and fill it with cold water. It is desirable that it is cleaned, not from the tap.
  3. We bring the liquid to a boil, reduce the fire to a minimum and keep the dishes in hot water for another quarter of an hour.
  4. Add 2 tablespoons of table salt and boil for another half an hour.
  5. Remove the construction from the fire and allow the liquid to cool naturally. Only after that we remove all items from the pan and rinse them under cool running water. To wash products by household chemicals or folk remedies is not necessary.

It must be remembered that sudden temperature changes can be fatal to glass. It is better to make smooth transitions - from hot, to warm and only then to cold or cool.
