Contrary to popular belief, drops of iodine solution that hit the surface of the tissue - it's not a sentence yet. There are many recommendations on how to wash iodine from clothes using natural products or compositions based on household chemicals. These approaches have proven themselves only from the best side and have been actively used by landladies for several decades. Moreover, there is no difference, fresh this spot or already long withered, in the arsenal of home remedies you can find a solution for any case.
Natural remedies with which you can remove stains from iodine
If for some reason iodine is to be removed from clothing in the most gentle way, then instead of household chemicals it is better to use absolutely safe and affordable products:
- Potato starch. It is necessary to moisten the contaminated area with cool water abundantly and directly apply a potato starch directly to the stain. The area affected by iodine should turn blue. Then we wash the product and further process it with powder or stain remover. It is necessary to leave the aged formation for the night under a layer of starch.
Tip: If the starch was not on hand, it can be replaced with potatoes. Just cut the tuber into two parts and apply to both sides of the fabric in the area of contamination, wait a few minutes for the juice to absorb into the matter. Then we wash the blue area in the traditional way.
- Soda and vinegar. Soda is poured directly onto unwanted formations and top with watered vinegar. We remove the thing for 3-4 hours to soak. The spot should become brighter or disappear completely during this time. Then we send the product to the machine wash.
- Milk. Allows you to quickly and without a trace to wash iodine from any type of matter. Just soak the product in a drink for 20 minutes, the fat content of milk does not matter. After the specified time, the spoiled area is additionally rubbed with soap and soap. If necessary, we run the garment through one cycle of machine washing at a suitable mode.
- Lemon juice. To influence the stain, use of fresh lemon juice or a weak solution of citric acid is allowed. In most cases, it is possible to dispense with these methods. If, for some reason, the formations do not wish to leave the surface of the tissue or leave behind obvious traces, it will be necessary to resort to the use of more aggressive treatment options.
Household chemical products
The effectiveness of the following approaches directly depends on the type of fabric and the quality of the fibers. If in one case the stains come off in a few seconds, then in another case you will have to try to completely remove them:
- Acetone. We take a cotton pad, soak it with acetone and begin to gently treat the spot with soaking movements. The color intensity should decrease immediately. If this does not happen, then this option will not give the desired result. After the treatment, it is necessary to wash the solvent and ventilate the product so that its specific odor is eroded.
- Ammonium .A suitable tool for the restoration of white things. A tablespoon of the drug is bred in a glass of lukewarm water. Wet the cotton disc in the resulting solution and gently treat the stain, moving in the same direction, otherwise the contamination will smear. Then rinse the product and dry it. If the traces remain, repeat the approach.
- Denatured alcohol. Suitable for colored clothing. The undiluted product is applied to traces of iodine, wait 10 minutes and rinse the product. For fidelity after the treatment, you can walk through the fabric with soap.
- Sodium hyposulfite. This drug can be purchased in a photo studio. It is simply applied to the contamination and immediately removed after the disappearance of traces of iodine. After manipulation, the garment must necessarily be washed in a typewriter using a quality powder.
- Vanish. The composition intended for cleaning carpets, successfully removes stains from iodine from clothing. Use it should be strictly according to the instructions, then the contamination will go away, and the quality of the product will not suffer.
When using active chemicals it is necessary to pre-test the product on an inconspicuous area of the tissue. Only in the case of complete absence of traces of molting or damage to fibers, the drug can be used for its intended purpose.
