Semolina porridge - a dish from childhood. Our memory keeps memories of sweet yellow porridge, which we ate with a small spoon from my mother's hands.
But from semolina you can do much more: desserts, for example, puddings, all kinds of casseroles. For the preparation of all these dishes, the quality of the manga must be simply the highest. It is not difficult to determine this, the main thing is that the packaging should be transparent. And then certainly you will not overlook the presence of lumps or bugs, which inevitably arise if you store the mango incorrectly.
But if storage in warehouses meets all the requirements, then at home it must also be appropriate. How? Let's try to understand.
Temperature and shelf life
To keep the manga in perfect condition, the air temperature in the apartment should not exceed 23 degrees.
Advice
Pay special attention to humidity, its value can be only 70%.And not at all higher.
If these conditions are met, the rump can be stored for 7-9 months.
When purchasing a mango in the store, check the storage time indicated on the package, this is the deadline, which is calculated depending on the date of manufacture. During this time, the rump can be used for food. But if the storage conditions are not respected, it will become unsuitable for cooking much earlier.
In addition to the temperature and storage times, there is one more important point - the capacity in which to fill the manga.
Choosing the capacity for semolina
Bring the groats home from the supermarket in standard packaging( paper or plastic bag), do not forget it immediately, that is, on the same day, pour.
Monku is best stored in a sealed container. It can be:
- glass jars with a tight lid;
- plastic containers, the caps of which are either snug or snug;
- clay or ceramic containers, only again hermetically sealed.
Experienced housewives found another good solution - linen bags with strings. Before using them to store manga, you need to boil in a steep saline solution.
Requirements - postscript
Whatever packaging you choose, it must be put in a dark and dry place. From the sunlight, the groats will quickly deteriorate. And from the increased humidity in it pests are created or mold will grow.
No matter how well all the above requirements are observed, the groats need to be checked from time to time-what is it like for smell and taste? If lumps start to form, it is enough to dry the mank and then sift it. But if it became bitter, then the moth or bugs chose it as their delicacy. And bitterness is caused by the waste of their activities. Getting into baking or porridge, they simply spoil it. To admit this in no event is impossible.
There are proven ways:
- bake in the oven immediately after buying in the store;
- put in the freezer for a few days immediately after you brought the groats home as a purchase - these two first techniques will help in the destruction of the larvae;
- stored in the refrigerator all the time, if you have a place;
- put in a container laurel sheet or sheet of foil.
Only following the advice and requirements, you can keep semolina in proper condition and prepare from it wonderful and delicious dishes.
