Do you think that there are not many dresses in the wardrobe of a real woman? Then you probably have a whole collection, for which you have to look after. And each approach needs its own approach: it is equally unacceptable to wash and iron the dress from chiffon and, say, kozhzama! Then how to iron products from different types of fabrics? Do not worry: we'll tell you everything.

How to iron a wool dress

If you think that after washing and drying, the risk of shrinkage of a wool dress is gone and you will not be able to spoil your clothes, you are mistaken: if you do not correctly iron a wool product, you can deform it and completely deprive it of its presentation. What must be done to avoid all this?

  • Use only a gauze or cotton cloth to iron your dress, and you need to moisten the cloth in advance.
  • Only iron on the wrong side, which, by the way, is true for most fabrics.
  • Do not stretch the product when ironing, as the woolen ligature will take the shape that you give it, especially if it is loose.
  • Begin to iron the wool from the 1 st level of heating the iron, because on the 3rd and even 2nd you risk getting a color deformation: natural light wool on overheating can turn yellow!
  • Do not be afraid to use the steamer, because the steam does not break the viscous relief and does not "prilizhet" the villi, but at the same time it completely smoothens the creases.

Advice

If you dry your dress correctly, not allowing strong wrinkles to form, then ironing it will be much easier. Dry the dresses immediately on the shoulders or neatly spreading on the rope, but not tossing over it, but fixing the clothespins by the seams near the collar.

How to stroke a pleated dress

The joy of buying a pleated dress lasts until the first wash: forming and ironing each wrinkle again, you can just get off the bag. That's why there are a couple of tricks.

How can I ease myself a task?

  • Before folding, fix the wrinkles by punching them around in a folded form. If the dress with the folds is long, then it is better to make such lines a few. So, putting the product on the ironing board, you can work with it the same way as with a normal cloth, and you do not have to iron wrinkles.
  • When you wash these dresses, add air conditioning to avoid unnecessary jams to the maximum.
  • To keep the factory pleating as long as possible, never squeeze or dry such dresses in a typewriter, and do not dry them by throwing it through the clothesline.
  • Such dresses are dried, again, immediately on a hanger or fixed clothespins for seams near the neck.

Can I use steaming in the case of such dresses? Even necessary! So the folds will look even more distinct.

How to stroke a leather dress

But with the skin everything is a little different: this material is natural, and it "breathes", which means that you can try with it a few tricks to smooth the folds without the iron.

  • Zalomy can go away by itself, if you simply give the dress to hang around for a few days.
  • If you do not have much time, try to stroke the dress, hanging it in the bathroom after you take a hot shower there. This steam is colder and harmless to the skin than the one created by the steamer, and it straightens the creases no worse. Generally, getting wet, the skin is straightened, only it is important to wet it a little bit, because excess moisture can lead to deformation.
  • If the cracks are strong, then you'll either have to iron the skin from the inside out through the cheesecloth, or else steam it off with a steam generator, keeping it at a distance of 10-15 cm from the product.
  • For very strong creases, you can also use a press: lightly heat the skin with an iron and put something even and heavy on it, for example a stack of thick books.

Advice

Leather products are usually not washed in traditional ways, so creases on them can only be formed from improper storage. Do not fold leather dresses and do not store them near batteries and heaters, as heat drains the skin, deforming the product.

How to caress a dress made of eco-leather

Artificial leather looks almost like a real one, but to iron a dress from this material is even more difficult! The thing is that a layer of polymer similar to rubber or rubber is applied to the textile lining, and it is much more difficult to remove the creases on it.

  • Try not to allow the formation of jaws on eco-leather: such products are shown only by hand washing, drying in fully straightened position, and also storage without folding.
  • If the hall formed, know: not a couple of days on the hanger, neither moisture, nor steam can not help you.
  • Only one output - heat. But only here it is necessary to act very carefully: the hall can be straightened only under the influence of temperature, but if you overdo it, then leatherette will melt and the dress will be spoiled. That's why ironing is advised only from the wrong side and only at the minimum temperature.

With regard to steaming, it can help, but only due to the high temperature of the steam, so ironing the creases will be safer and more accurate.

How to stroke a dress of leatherette?

In fact, eco-leather, leatherette, artificial leather and dermantin - in fact the same, so, no matter how the dress manufacturers name the material, the recommendations for ironing it will be the same.

How to stroke a velvet dress

The easiest way to let velvet hang in a steam-filled bathroom or steam it off with a steam generator, but if you decide to iron, then consider the following points.

  • Under velveteen, it is necessary to put a soft lining, for example a terry towel, otherwise the villi will be smoothed and the fabric will lose its appearance.
  • Smooth velvet only from the inside out through the gasket from gauze at minimum temperatures.

By the way

Steaming the velvet, do not bring the iron too close, especially if you are dealing with synthetics!

How to caress silk dress

Silk seems to be a very delicate material, but it's even easier to iron it than synthetics. If, of course, comply with all the rules and recommendations.

  • Smooth the silk products from the wrong side through a layer of gauze or cotton to protect the fabric.
  • Do not put high temperatures when ironing silk: the dress can be ironed qualitatively and at a minimum level of heating.
  • Silk smoothes better if you start to iron it a little more wet.
  • It is also possible to steam silk, but to prevent hot steam from damaging the dress, it is better to cover it with gauze, and the steamer itself should not be brought closer than 7-8 cm.

What if silk is still artificial? As with other synthetic doubles of natural fabrics, the rule is one: minimum temperature, ironing from the underside and, of course, a gasket made of gauze or cotton.

How to iron a satin dress?

For natural satin and for its artificial colleague, the ironing rules are the same as for silk, because these fabrics, whether natural cloth or synthetics, have similar characteristics.

How to iron a chiffon dress

Chiffon is not capricious in ironing, if you do not start to red-hot the iron, but the tricks to ease the smoothing of chopped chiffon begin at the stage of washing.

  • Do not squeeze the chiffon dress in a typewriter, so that it is crumbled as little as possible.
  • When washing, add air conditioning: so small creases and large creases are almost not formed.
  • Dry chiffon product in a straightened form and also store it.

Chiffon can be ironed at minimum and medium temperatures - depending on the product - from the inside through a gauze pad, especially if the chiffon is not natural.

Now your dress is safe, because with our advice, you definitely will not spoil them by ignorance while ironing!
