Once or twice a year, the time comes for total cleaning of the apartment or house from deposits of dirt and dust. When you feel that the house is missing freshness, then the question arises, how to wash the tulle, and then - how to dry and iron? Dust is collected not only on the shelves and the TV, but also in the upholstery of upholstered furniture, carpets, as well as curtains and curtains. The answer to the question of how to properly wash tulle depends on the material from which it is made. Each tissue requires special treatment for it.

Before the wide distribution of washing machines, everybody coped with washing by hand. The disadvantage is the length and size of the fabric that covers our windows from the sun's rays and the curious looks of the neighbors. Many experts advise washing the curtains only with hands, not practicing experiments with machine modes. Let's try to figure out whether it is possible to wash the tulle curtains in a washing machine, at what temperature it is permissible to do and for all tissues such cleaning will do.

Washing tulle in washing machines

Do not be afraid to put decorative tulle in the drum of your washing machine, if you follow all the rules, nothing harms it. If it is small, it is better to use a special bag for washing delicate things or a simple pillowcase. Before you send the curtain to the drum, you can soak it in cold water: the fabric of water is not afraid, and dust, on the contrary, is feared.

If the material is gentle and delicate, then the spin speed should not exceed 400 revolutions, so that the tulle does not tear and is not damaged. The temperature should be no more than 30-40 degrees, but here everything depends on the type of matter. White capron at a high temperature turns yellow. If the composition of the tulle is more than 50% of natural fabrics, such as cotton, then the temperature can be made higher, about 60 degrees. The most finicky in the washing process are chiffon and organza. Tulle from these materials should be washed by hand, since even the most delicate washing in a typewriter can damage them.

If you know how to wash a tulle, you need to know how to dry it properly. The fabric needs to be leveled as much as possible. It's okay if the canvas is folded in a couple of layers, the main thing is that the glass should hang smoothly and from it.

tip If you place the curtain in the drum neatly folded before washing, it will not look "chewed".

The severity of water during drying is usually sufficient for a complete leveling of the tulle. But if this did not happen, then you need to know how to iron the tulle so as not to burn it.

How to properly and harmlessly pat the curtains?

Delicate natural fabrics are whimsical though, but it's easier to cope with them than with synthetics. Natural materials, as a rule, need to be ironed through cheesecloth or cotton cloth, necessarily from the wrong side. Synthetics are afraid of iron, because under the influence of high temperature it can "burn".Before ironing, make sure that the soleplate of the iron is absolutely clean, without burnt areas.

Consider the rules for ironing different materials, of which tulle is most often made.

  • Organza can be ironed only through gauze fabric at the lowest temperature mode of the iron, not exceeding the mark of 120 degrees. Absolutely destructive for elegant fabrics is the "Steaming" mode, since the organza will take "waves", and nothing can be done with them.
  • Polyester can be ironed with a warm iron, but with a damp, natural cloth.
  • To iron the veil gauze fabric is not enough, you need to take a thick cotton cloth and iron the tulle with a slightly heated iron.
  • Kisei does not tolerate high temperatures even when washing, and ironing is completely counter-indicative.
  • Nylon curtains are better not to iron, but hang them on the cornice, while they are still wet. If in the course of washing they are too crumpled, then ironing is through wet gauze heated to 100-120 degrees with an iron.

Rehabilitation of tulle folk methods

There is no unsolvable task for folk wisdom. If you have a general cleaning on your nose and you do not know how to wash the tulle from dust and eliminate the yellowish tint, then turn to folk recipes. It is not necessary to wash elegant fabrics in a washing machine with the addition of stain removers, there are other methods of bleaching tulle and curtains.

  1. Digestion of .Our grandmothers cooked everything from bed linen to their own clothes. Cooking eats dirt from the curtains of the curtains and gives it a dazzling whiteness. Add soap to water and cook for at least 1 hour. Note that this method is absolutely not applicable for organza and nylon.
  2. Bleaching with common salt .You will need a capacity of 5-10 liters, hot water and 5 tbsp.l.salt. Place the tulle in a hot salted solution and leave for at least 3 hours( preferably to stand all night). After such salting, the curtain must be stretched with the powder.
  3. Bleaching with blue .Another "grandmother" method, which is indispensable in the XXI century. The solution is prepared as follows: in 5 liters of water, dissolve 5 tbsp.l.blue. In the resulting solution, place the tulle for 5 minutes, then rinse it thoroughly in clean water at least 2 times. After this, you do not need to wash the tulle.
  4. Whitening with green .You do not think the usual chemist's greens can serve as a bleach. In the rinse container, drip 10 drops of green and rinse the curtain in the "medicinal" solution.

We hope these ways have helped you decide how to wash the tulle at home. Unfortunately, the grayed tulle you can not save, because it just burned out. You can try to tint it with blue, but it will not give an effective and lasting result.

The main advice to all the hostesses: do not wait for the moment when the tulle has turned yellow or gray. The less dust in it, the easier it is to wash. The more time you wash, the whiter your tulle will remain. Keep clean in the house, as tulle not only visually refreshes and decorates any interior, but also gives the room a pleasant fresh fragrance.
