Sawing wood sheets to size
Use a hand-held circular saw to cut the pieces of board you want.
What you need: Cordless circular saw, pencil, clamps, ruler, long piece of wood, pine board (18 x 600 x 1200 mm) and pine board (18 x 400 x 1200 mm).
First, use a circular saw to cut an 80 mm wide block along the long side of the furniture board (600 x 1200 mm). Important: set the cutting angle to 45 °. The resulting block should have a width of 80 mm and a length of 1200 mm. Then you need to take a narrower board (400 x 1200 mm) and cut two pieces of the same size (80 x 1200 mm) from it in the same way.
Bottom board processing
Use a Forstner drill to drill holes in a wooden board
What you need: Cordless combination drill, Forstner drill (25 mm diameter), wood drill (3.5 mm), HSS countersink drill, clamps, pencil, ruler, pine furniture board (18 x 600 x 1200 mm).
Take a furniture board (600 x 1200 mm) and mark it along the entire perimeter of the board, 70 mm from the edges. Make a mark at each corner of the frame you sketched. At each of the narrow ends of the shield, make another mark in the center between the two corner points. On the long side, make marks 370 mm from the corner marks (see picture). sketch). Then drill the marked corner points with a Forstner drill (25mm). Drill the rest of the marked points with a wood drill (3 mm) and then re-drill them with a countersunk drill to a depth of about 2 mm.
Processing table legs
Use the NanoBlade saw to cut wood broom handles
What you need: NanoBlade saw, cordless combination drill, matching drill bit set, wood drill bit (3.5 mm), high speed steel, ruler, pencil, clamps, pine furniture boards, 4 broomsticks (diameter 24 mm, length at least 800 mm), aerosol paint (approx. 150 ml)
Use the NanoBlade saw to cut two pieces of furniture (80 x 1200 mm) to the desired dimensions - two pieces (80 x 435 mm) and one (80 x 1035 mm). Shorten the broomsticks to a length of 800 mm. When doing this, use two clamps to secure the broom flour. Then drill two holes, one above the other, in the sawn ends of all four broom handles. These holes should be at a distance of 20 mm and 60 mm from the edge of the cut (see. sketch). On the two brush handles, also pre-drill a third hole offset by 90 ° (its distance from the cut edge should be 40 mm). Then you must drill all holes with a countersunk drill to a depth of 2-3 mm.
Sanding and joining boards
Sand wood planks with an eccentric sander. You should sand all surfaces thoroughly.
What you need: sander with eccentric rotation, set of sanding sheets (115 mm diameter), clamps, furniture boards, wood screws (20 pieces measuring 4 x 50 mm); 60 pieces measuring 3.5 x 16 mm), steel piano loop (1200 x 32 mm)
To get beautiful clean edges and prepare the wood for painting, you need to properly sand all boards and remove any burrs from their rough edges.
Then screw the trimmed wood planks to the pre-drilled pine plank (600 x 1200 mm). To do this, first screw two small boards (80 x 435 mm) to each of the narrow sides of the painted frame, right between the large holes made by the drill. To do this, use the pre-drilled holes and three screws (4 x 50 mm). The third board (80 x 1035 mm) is screwed to the long side of the frame with four screws (4 x 50 mm), also using the pre-drilled holes directly between the large holes. Then reconnect the large furniture board (600 x 1200 mm), which was originally divided, with the sawn-off piece of wood. To do this, use two steel piano hinges and about 40 wood screws (3.5 x 16 mm). Then place the finished plank onto the constructed structure. A shorter piece of wood with hinges should be secured at the back so that a larger piece can be folded up and used as a dining table.
Completing the table assembly
Use a cordless drill to connect the pieces of wood together. Make sure everything is reliable and stable.
What you need: cordless combination drill, a set of attachments for it, a ruler, a pencil, masking tape / adhesive tape, a set of paints, treated furniture boards and bars, as well as broomstick handles, screws (20 pieces measuring 4 x 50 mm; 60 pieces 3.5 x 16 mm), eye bolts / eyebolts for wood carving (20 x 8 mm), brackets (50 x 50 mm), piece of board (400 x 600 mm).
To secure the tabletop, a shorter piece of wood must be screwed to the side panel (80 x 1035 mm). To do this, use two brackets and ten screws (3.5 x 16 mm) for each bracket. Then attach the two eyelets to the inside of the side panels (80 x 435 mm). Mark two points - 150 mm from the side panel (80 x 1035 mm) and 40 mm from the bottom of the table, respectively. Screw in the screws (3.5 x 16 mm) at the marked points and unscrew again. Then screw in the lugs by hand. Repeat this step for the other two lugs on the underside of the convertible top - 200 mm from the outer edge and 40 mm from the bottom edge.
Then thread the string through all four holes and tie the ends in a secure knot. Finally, insert the broom handles into the holes in the body made with a Forstner drill and screw them flush with ten screws (4 x 50mm), two at the front and three at the back for each hole. The three-hole broom handles serve as the back legs of the table. Now you have to protect the edges of the top tabletop with masking tape, and then cover it with a layer of varnish on top.
