What you need to remove the polish

The only thing that is required for high-quality cleaning of furniture from varnish from special tools is a building hair dryer. Normal, for hair, is not suitable here.

But, in principle, this is not such an expensive gadget: the simplest one costs about 1000 rubles, but the household needs a thing, and it will come in handy more than once

In addition to a hair dryer, you will need a blowtorch or gas torch, a metal scraper brush, a piece of plastic wrap, a soft brush and fine sandpaper.

How to remove varnish mechanically

The mechanical way to remove the polish is the easiest. If the varnish layer is thin and unevenly exfoliated, you can simply walk through the problem areas with sandpaper. In places where access is difficult, use a sharpened trowel.

There is only one problem in the mechanical method - you can get carried away with the process and damage the base under the varnish, but it will not be easy to fix it. So patience, neatness and slowness are the components of success with a mechanical cleaning method.

How to remove varnish using chemistry

You can also remove varnish using a chemical method. To do this, you need a compound that is called a wash in hardware stores. This product has a rather pungent smell, so you need to use it outdoors or with open windows. Wash is corrosive, so be sure to use protective equipment.

The wash is applied to the polish with a brush. After application, the surface is covered with polyethylene for 2-3 hours. A darkening of the surface will be a sign of varnish dissolution. The film is removed, and the remaining varnish is removed with a spatula. The wash itself is removed with a solution of 300 ml of vinegar and a liter of water. After processing, wipe the clean surface with a soft, lint-free cloth.

Hot air varnish removal

This method requires a hot hair dryer or blowtorch. The method is rather primitive: the varnish is heated with a device and immediately, until it hardens again, is removed with a spatula. If you take your time and act carefully, the varnish can be removed perfectly.

Be sure to use protective gloves during this work: heated varnish can cause serious burns.
