One of the main requirements for modern heating devices is the high efficiency of heat transfer. Not the least role in the choice of the instrument is played by its longevity. As practice has shown, the optimal combination of these two indicators is bimetal( double metal).
Now that the coolant prices are steadily rising, the customer increasingly stops his eyes on radiators made of steel and aluminum. Naturally, the question arises before him: how to choose a bimetallic radiator, so that money, in general, considerable, was not wasted?
Bimetal or semi-bimetal?
It turns out that not all bimetal instruments are the same, they are divided into two groups according to the construct:
- Bimetallic;
- Semibimetallic.
In bimetal radiators, the inner steel sheath is a steel frame made of vertical and horizontal tubular elements connected by welding. The welded structure under pressure is poured with aluminum.
In bimetal radiators, water only comes into contact with steel. By the way, many well-known manufacturers use corrosion-resistant steel to make the inner shell.
Semi-bimetallic radiators differ from the "real" ones in that they only have vertical channels reinforced with steel cores. Such a design also has the right to life, but experts say that the best bimetal radiators of heating - containing inside a full steel shell.
Basic selection criteria
Heat dissipation
For this indicator in the bimetal instrument meets the outer aluminum shell. Thanks to the original technological methods, the efficiency of the tandem "steel-aluminum" is higher than that of monometallic aluminum radiators. The standard device( center distance of 500 mm) provides heat transfer of 170-195 W.Therefore, the question of what is best: aluminum radiators or bimetallic, the answer is unambiguous - of course, bimetallic.
Reliability and durability
Provides their internal steel construction. The thickness of the steel shell of a quality device is 2.5 mm. This allows the device to withstand working pressure of no more than 40 atm.and pressure test - no more than 60 atm.
Design
In addition to high performance, bimetallic radiators differ in beautiful appearance: they perfectly fit into any interior. The surface of the devices is covered with high-strength powder paint.
Calculation of the required number of sections
Bimetallic radiators are supplied in the form of sets of sections, packed in 10 pieces. One section is designed to heat about two square meters of the room. In order to determine the number of sections you need, you need to make a calculation.
If your apartment is in a large-panel house( and the house is in the middle zone of Russia), then you can use the following calculation method:
- calculate the area of the room( each separately);
- multiply the result by 100 W( normative value);
- product divide the heat transfer of one section of the radiator you selected.
There is a simplified calculation method. They can be used in case you are going to install radiators with an axle distance of 500 mm:
- divide the area of the room into two. The result will mean the required number of sections. For example, in a room of 24 square meters it will be necessary to install 24: 2 = 12 sections;
- for apartments located on the first and last floors, or angular, as well as for rooms with window openings of more than 2 square meters, the figure should be increased by 10%.
Owners of country houses will need professional heat calculation: here the thermal conductivity of all building constructions: walls, windows, roofs, floors must be taken into account. Typically, solid companies that undertake the installation of heating systems and appliances, make such a calculation without additional payment.
We choose manufacturer
The modern market is filled with products of producers of various degrees of fame. And, as always, products of unknown origin are sold at a very attractive price. Making a choice, each buyer is guided by the thickness of his wallet. But it is better to buy bimetallic batteries of the famous company , even if it costs more.
The most popular manufacturer of bimetallic radiators on our market is Global Style. She successfully mastered the Russian market, supplying radiators adapted to our operating conditions. In the development of models, our specialists from the Scientific Research Institute of Sanitary Engineering took part. Radiators of this manufacturer perfectly "get along" with plastic, metal-plastic, steel and copper pipes. The products of "Global" are of high quality and pure Italian style of design.
By the way, Global Style is not the only Italian company that develops our market. Another company, Sira, offers us three models of its products. But this manufacturer mainly specializes in semi-bimetal. Nevertheless, the heat transfer of the Sira radiators is such that to maintain the required temperature it takes an order of less sections than their competitors.
Of the domestic producers, the best is considered to be "Rifar".Although the production of this company refers to semi-bimetal, it is characterized by high reliability and durability. The fact is that in RIFAR radiators the resistance of aluminum to the electrochemical effect is increased due to its coating inside with the anticorrosive composition RIFAR-ZIN.
Bimetal radiators are not the cheapest pleasure: the cost of one section ranges from 400 to 2000 rubles. But this design has all the advantages of radiators of other types, without having their disadvantages.
