Dirt in the yard does not make anyone happy, so any owner must pave the yard. If funds allow, of course, it is better to choose paving slabs. But what if you're on a budget? There are many options for paving with scrap materials, but among them there is the most reliable and durable, and today we will talk about it.

What tracks can be made of
You can pave the yard with different materials, and if there is no money for the most obvious option, paving slabs, then you should pay attention to cheaper ideas.
It is possible not to pave at all, but to fill the yard with gravel or slag. It is relatively inexpensive and will definitely not get dirty. But the backfill has its own nuances: over time, it will "go" into the ground, that is, with every rain, the soil under it will soak and the stones will begin to sink into it.
You can pave the yard with wood - planks or saw cuts. But nowadays, boards are an expensive pleasure, so flooring cannot be called an economical way of paving. Cuts are another matter: it is free (after all, you will use the trunks of garden trees), but this option can hardly be called durable.
Ordinary stones are not suitable for paving, you need flat ones, but it is not easy to find such stones in large quantities.
Cheap, practical, durable - concrete
Pouring with concrete is the most optimal budgetary way to pave the yard. It allows you to get a high-strength coating that will last at least 50 years.
And the main plus is that all this can be done independently and even without assistants. You will need the simplest tools: a shovel, a watering can, a trowel and a mixing container (which can be a regular basin). If you will fill the track with solid tape, you will need boards for formwork or a mold for pouring if you want to make a figured decoration.
Concrete paving technology
To pave the area with concrete, it must first be leveled. To do this, remove all stones, plant and household waste, and then remove a layer of soil by about 15 cm.
Then the formwork is placed and the base is covered with a mixture of gravel and sand. It will be better if you put geotextiles under the backfill - this way the sand will not go into the ground.
Next is the pouring procedure. It is necessary to mix the concrete and pour it into the formwork. For strength during the pouring process, you can lay a welded metal mesh, which reinforces the concrete layer.
What proportions are needed for paving
Of course, the quality of the cement is important. For tracks, you do not need to take old caked cement, in which lumps have seized. The brand of cement for paving must be at least M300. It is better to take sand for concrete paths from the river, with a medium fraction.
The ratio of components for pouring is traditional: 3 to 1. Or, if you want to add crushed stone, then 1 part of cement will need 1 part of crushed stone and 1 part of sand. To make the solution fit well, it is better to add a plasticizer.
