You don't need anything special. A pack of the cheapest tissues or a couple of rolls of toilet paper are sure to be found in every home. You can get a large cardboard box or several containers of containerboard from the nearest store. You also need to stock up on a roll of masking tape, acrylic paint and PVA glue.

As you can see, the set is very affordable. Most of it is either completely junk materials, or raw materials of a penny value. If you don't even have PVA, you can replace it with homemade flour or starch paste.

Elena found a very simple option for the base of the fireplace. She apparently had a recent refurbishment and had the foresight to leave containers for various crafts.

The cardboard box cannot be simply left as it is. Even if you paint it now, it will be clear what it is made of.

The author painted the fireplace white, so it fits well into her interior. But you can choose another option: add color and draw the seams. If you don't want to mess around with cardboard bricks, you can buy PVC imitation brickwork at a hardware store. Bricks can even be made from egg trays. In fact, this is papier-mâché, it only needs to be soaked and re-formed in the shape of a brick-like tile. In short, there are a lot of decoration options, follow your imagination.

And when you create a complete imitation of brickwork, you can add New Year's decor. Decorate the fireplace with tinsel, hang traditional socks on it, and put logs and a flickering LED garland in the firebox.
