Decoupage of an old mirror with waste material

Often, an old mirror still looks beautiful, but the frame has already lost its shape and presentable appearance. To fix this, it is worth decorating it with shells, cones or other improvised means. Then the mirror will serve for many more years.

Seashells

The bezel decorated with shells looks unusual and beautiful. You can buy them in the store or assemble them yourself on the banks of the river or by the sea. The main thing is to pre-wash them so that the material for the decor looks beautiful.

Shells of different shapes and sizes must be glued to the frame around the perimeter. There is an option to distribute them in a free order or compose a composition. At the end, the frame is covered with a glossy varnish. So it will look more presentable and stylish, and the mirror will delight the eye for many years to come.

Flowers

A flower drawing always looks beautiful in a women's room. Such a mirror will be suitable for a place in a bedroom or dressing room, where a woman puts on makeup, tries on outfits and puts herself in order.

Some apply a floral pattern using decoupage. Metallic, artificial, or even paper flowers are also suitable. But it must be borne in mind that the latter are not too strong and durable.

Decorative clothespins

This decor looks best on a round mirror. For the alteration, you will need many wooden clothespins of the same length and size. Decorative tape is glued to them, which is painted or remains in its original form.

Clothespins cling to the mirror in a circle, creating a bezel. If you can't attach them, you can glue them. It looks interesting if you make several rows of clothespins one after another.

Spruce cones

The frame, decorated with spruce or pine cones, looks unusual. It is perfect for a country house or summer cottage. The cones are glued to the frame in several rows around the perimeter. They can be arranged in a straight line or in a free order.

Artificial branches, berries or acorns are used together with cones to create a winter composition. At the end, the frame should be painted with gold or silver paint.

The children's designer
