According to the proposal, in the future, the installation of gas meters should be assigned to gas suppliers. As members of the economic committee explain their decision, this step looks the most logical. It is assumed that the installation of such meters will make it possible to remotely transmit metering of readings.
“The development of an intelligent gas metering system is necessary to ensure the transparency of metering, prompt access to information from metering devices, reducing gas losses and increasing reliability gas supply. In terms of state policy in the field of digitalization, this is one of the priority tasks that determines a long-term strategy development of the country ", - said in a letter from representatives of the Federation Council, which they sent to the presidential aide Maxim Oreshkina.
At the moment, the obligation to equip with metering devices is assigned to citizens - owners using gas equipment, who are also obliged to fulfill their obligations to pay for gas. But tenants continually violate such a requirement, endangering both the economic component of the issue and the safety of the tenants.
