The optimal time to start preparing the bowl is mid or late March. You need to wait until the ice crust finally melts. Remember that it is unacceptable to chop ice in any way, and even more so - with a shovel or crowbar.
What is required for de-preservation work:
- Durable rubber boots and gloves with long cuffs, respirator for respiratory protection.
- A brush on a comfortable shaft, hard washcloths (not metal!). A plastic scraper may be useful.
- Container convenient for collecting and serving water (for example, plastic buckets).
- Water vacuum cleaner, if available, or pump for pumping out water.
- Chemicals for cleaning and disinfection: bleach, algicides, coagulants.
- A portable spotlight and a convenient staircase.
Where to start and what you will face when cleaning the pool after winter
First you need to remove the cover that usually covers the pool. If you simply peel off the material, some of the debris from its surface will fall into the bowl. So it is better to wrap the cover sequentially so that the dirt remains on it. It is convenient to do it together.
After removing the material, you will find water at the bottom of the bowl. It is undesirable to drain it into the drain hole, because there is probably a lot of debris in it.
Pay attention to the inner surface of the pipes: plaque must have formed here. It must be removed with a brush or flexible brush. The joints of the pipes should be especially carefully cleaned, here dirt always lingers behind the rim.
To clean the water supply system that is empty in winter, blow it with compressed air, or at least clean it with a brush or sponge tied to a flexible wire.
After cleaning the pipes, they must be rinsed with water and a disinfectant solution and wiped dry. Only after this procedure can nozzles and other removable parts be installed in their places.
How to clean the bowl properly
Before starting wet cleaning of the bowl, remove as much as possible all dry debris with a broom or brush. Then treat the walls with detergent and allow time to dissolve the dried-on dirt. Use a brush in the corners and attachment points of removable elements. Then rinse off the detergent with high pressure water. The procedure must be repeated at least two times.
In no case do not leave a green bloom of algae on the walls - they winter well even without water and then multiply rapidly.
Water collection and use of chemistry in the pool
The first set of water should be maximum in order to drive the skimmers in working mode.
Start by normalizing the acidity and impact chlorination of the water. The initial concentration of chlorine is at least 4 mg / l. With such water, the pool should stand for at least 10 hours with an acidity control at 7.5.
After that, you need to add algicide to the water in a dosage that is about 20% higher than the norm for the operation of the pool.
The final stage of de-conservation
Before starting the pumps, check their condition and the integrity of the wiring. Water circulation must be started at the same time as chlorination. Don't forget to clean the sand filters.
All the water in the pool must be pumped out at least 4 times, and then the filter must be backwashed.
