What can be done from old doors

Many people throw out old doors after renovation, because it seems that they are not needed. Indeed, it is hardly possible to use them for their intended purpose. But on the other hand, you can make a lot of interesting things out of them for the interior and give the apartment individuality.

Photo frame

You can make an excellent photo frame from an old door, which will become a bright accent in the interior. But it must be borne in mind that it must have a certain pattern. Better if these are small squares or rectangles.

The old hinges and handle must be removed from the door. After that, you need to print photos, each of which will fit one hole in size. Then the photos are glued from the inside so that they can be seen through the glass.

If the glasses are matte or translucent, they need to be replaced or removed altogether. At the end, you can paint the new frame in a suitable color and hang it in the room. The fasteners must be strong enough as the door can be quite heavy.

Chest of drawers in the hallway

An old door can be the basis for a small chest of drawers in the hallway. But besides her, you will need a small bedside table or several wooden panels, as well as hooks and, possibly, a soft pillow.

The door is installed vertically and a curbstone is attached to it in front. Instead of a curbstone, you can assemble a small table or bench from wood. The main thing is that the structure is stable.

If the option with a bench is chosen, you can attach a pillow to it for a more comfortable sitting. Then hooks for clothes are attached to the canvas, and after that the whole structure is painted in one color.

Shelf for books

The door can be used to make small shelves for books or other small items. Such a design will be practical and at the same time unusual and interesting. In addition, you will need small boards that will become shelves.

For such an idea, a canvas with horizontal rectangular holes is suitable. You need to remove the glass from the door. After that, attach a shelf from the seamy side to the lower edge of each hole. Moreover, this must be done so that the door can be tilted onto the wall at an angle, otherwise it will not stand.

Another option is to make a reinforcement at the base of the structure. Then all this needs to be painted and installed to the wall so that the canvas is outside. Such shelves are not only unusual, but also spacious.

Coffee table

An old door leaf can make a great worktop. You need to attach legs of a suitable height to it so that it is convenient to use. If the table needs to be moved frequently, it is worth making it on wheels.

If the structure is too large, the blade can be cut in half. Then the future table must be painted. At the same time, the legs can be specially aged to make the table look harmonious.

If the canvas is uneven and inconvenient to use, it is worth putting glass on top. In addition, it is more practical, because the glass surface is much easier to clean, and the table will look neater.

Mirror frame

There are two ways to make a large floor mirror from an old door leaf. In the first option, you need to cut out the middle, leaving only the frame, and insert a mirror in the center.

The second option is more interesting, but more difficult. You need to take a door with a rectangular pattern. In each square, the glass is replaced by a mirror. In this case, the partitions between the glasses must be thin, otherwise it will be inconvenient to use the mirror.

The pretty handle can be left as a decor or as a hanger for a bag. Hooks for keys or jewelry can also be attached to the frame. At the end, the mirror needs to be painted or varnished.
