Rating of the Universiade in Kazan 2013

On the July 17 Universiade in Kazan, athletes competed for more than 350 sets of awards in 27 disciplines.

In 2013, an unprecedented number of Universiade records was set in Kazan - 67, while at the last year's Games in Shenzhen, China, athletes "updated" 14 records. Young athletes from 162 countries took part in the Games. We bring to your attention the rating of the Universiade teams in Kazan 2013 .

10. Australia

The Australian athletestook away from the Universiade 6 awards of the highest dignity, as well as 4 silver and 6 bronze medals. Hit in the top ten is a success for the national team, which in the past Games was on the 15th line of the all-team standings.

9. Italy

The Italians won 6 gold medals in Kazan, 17 silver medals and 21 bronze medals. The Italian national team traditionally enters the top ten at the Universiade.

8. South Africa

Eighth place in the team event is a huge success for the national team of South Africa. At past Games in China, South Africa took 24th place. This year, 7 gold awards, 3 silver and 4 bronze medals have left for South Africa.

7. US

Americans are the "regulars" of the top ten. In 2013, the US team won 11 gold, 14 silver and 15 bronze medals.

6. Ukraine

Ukrainian sportsmen won 12 awards of the highest dignity, 29 silver medals and 36 bronze medals.

5. Belarus

In the past Games in Shenzhen, the Belarusians took 19th place. This year, the team won 13 gold and silver medals, as well as 14 bronze medals.

4. Korea

At past Games, the Korean national team topped the top three, but this year it was also avoided by traditionally strong Japanese. Korean athletes won in Kazan 17 gold, as well as 12 silver and bronze medals.

3. Japan

The top three ranking teams of the Universiade closes Japan. Athletes from the Land of the Rising Sun won 84 medals, of which 24 are highest, 28 silver and 32 bronze.

2. China

The second place in the ranking of teams by the number of awards at the current Games was taken by the Chinese team, which was in the lead at the previous Universiade in Shenzhen. In 2013, the Chinese won 77 medals( 26 highest, 29 silver and 22 bronze).

1. Russia

The Russian national team is the undisputed leader of the Summer Universiade. Our athletes won 41% of the highest awards from the number played in the course of the competition. The total number of medals received by Russian athletes is 292. Of these, 155 are top dignity, 75 silver and 62 bronze medals.
