How to clean furniture with microfibre upholstery?

Before you clean microfiber furniture yourself, do the following:

  1. Read the manufacturer's recommendations on the label or in the passport to the subject carefully.
  2. If you are not sure of the choice of a product, call the company where you purchased the item and ask the consultant for all the information you are interested in.
  3. Before proceeding with large-scale operations, try the reaction of the fabric to a detergent in an inconspicuous small area.

Once you have prepared all the necessary inventory and understood all the rules, proceed as follows:

  1. Clean all small debris and dust from the furniture surface with a vacuum cleaner with a soft brush.
  2. Prepare a not very concentrated soap solution with cold water - liquid hand soap or dishwashing detergent is suitable.
  3. Moisten a terry towel or sponge in the solution and squeeze well so that excess moisture does not get absorbed into the fabric on the furniture.
  4. Sequentially work the surface in small areas with soft wiping movements.
  5. Walk on the surface with a brush to restore the texture of the upholstery as soon as it dries.

Important! Do not soak the upholstery so that the chemistry and water do not penetrate deep inside - in this case the furniture may start to rot. For drying, it is allowed to use the hair dryer for a short time in the weakest mode with a low temperature, but it is better to leave the upholstery drying in natural conditions.

Useful advices

  • Slight pale spots on rags are quite appropriate - they do not affect the quality of further cleaning of different items, this is not the dirt that will transfer to another surface when touched. Therefore, the level of cleanliness in this case is rather an aesthetic issue, rather than a practical one.
  • If you decide to use a dryer to speed up the drying of microfiber, do it separately from other things. The pile from them will settle on this synthetic fabric and the whole washing procedure will eventually go to nothing.
  • When cleaning furniture do not use very powerful vacuum cleaners or intensive modes - they may appear wrinkles that can not be straightened out.
  • To remove stains, do not use aggressive solvents and chlorine stain removers - they can not only change the shade, but also disrupt the structure of the fabric, and, accordingly, reduce its strength. If you need to remove complex stains from coffee, juice or fat, use plain soda or salt.

We hope that now you do not have any questions about how to clean the microfiber, and your things will last for a long time, keeping an attractive look of your house!
