Methods for testing the fabric for the strength of the color

Bright color is not an indispensable sign of the propensity of matter to molt. To find out if things need special care, you need to conduct some simple experiments:

  1. Wet the small area of tissue on the product with water, attach a sheet of white paper to it and pat the prototype through it. If colored spots appear on paper, the material tends to moult and burn out.
  2. Take a sample of tissue( cut off at the seam or use an additional flap) and for 10 minutes soak it in ammonia. The weave, dry and apply to the product. If the clothes are obviously brighter than the experienced element, then the fabric moults.
  3. Pour warm water into the basin, in it we dilute a little detergent powder to complete dissolution( without bleaching or intensive components).Soak the interesting thing in the composition and leave it for no more than 10 minutes. We take the object, without rinsing it wrapped in a piece of white matter and squeezed well by pressing movements. If the color turns to a white background, in the future you will have to follow certain rules.

Products that do not pass even one of the verification options must be washed with extreme care, observing all relevant recommendations.

Rules for washing things that are prone to moult

Before you wash the shedding things, according to the recommendations on the label, you need to consider a few more important points:

  • The laundry should begin with the sorting of clothes. Black products are separate, the rest of the colors are also better packed in a palette or at least limited to a division in warm and cold colors.
  • As detergents only special preparations that preserve and fix the color are allowed. Preference should be given to gels.
  • The treatment mode is set depending on the type of fabric, the temperature should not exceed 30-40 ° C.

  • When hand washing, first you need to make a cleaning solution, trying to completely dissolve the detergent, only then you can soak the product.
  • Soap and soda are not used for manual processing! They will almost certainly change the initial shade of the thing.
  • Do not use bleach and stain removers. It is recommended to remove pollutants with folk remedies, such as vinegar, ammonia and lemon juice.
  • To fix the color of the thing, you can rinse it in a weak solution of vinegar, prepared from cold water. The maximum effect will be achieved if you do this after each wash.

Observance of these rules guarantees the long-term preservation of a significant part of the color. In addition, there are still a lot of recommendations on how to fix the paint on the tissues, which need to be done from time to time.

Methods for fixing the color on the fabric after processing

It is not necessary to regularly use finished preparations of industrial origin in order to preserve the color of your favorite product. It is better if the clothes are exposed to safe and affordable natural products:

  • Saline solution. In cold water, we dilute table salt based on a tablespoon of product per liter of liquid. Soak things for an hour, then wash them by hand or in a typewriter. Wash the product, dry and iron from the wrong side.

Tip: Regardless of the type of effect on the fabric, clothing should not be wrung out. It is better to wrap it with a clean white cloth and remove excess moisture by compressive movements.

  • Turpentine. This component will preserve the color of cotton products. To get the desired result and not to suffer afterwards from divorce, you need to perform a whole complex of manipulations. First, in 2 liters of water we make a tablespoon of turpentine. In the composition, do not soak the garment for 10 minutes. Then we wash it in cool water with detergent and powder in a weak vinegar solution.
  • Glycerin. It is recommended to use for the care of things made of fine wool and mohair. We pour warm water into the basin, we dilute in it a little liquid detergent. Soak the product for 10 minutes, merge the composition. Add water with glycerin( two tablespoons per liter of liquid), a little detergent and gently erase. A hollow thing and dry without squeezing.

Clothing items prone to molting should be dried in the shade, provided good ventilation is provided. In this case, it is better to turn the products to the purl stitch, which will further reduce the risk of color burning.
