In any case, it will have to be withdrawn for evaluation, sometimes the element simply fails. Even a person who is far from understanding the work of a washing machine is able to carry out the manipulation that mistresses usually try to entrust to professionals.
How do I get to the pump, depending on the type of machine?
Regardless of what type of washing machine you have to deal with, you need to stock up a number of tools. The house-master will need a wrench, a water tank, a flat and a cross-head screwdriver. Next, proceed to study the instructions that are attached to the unit. This is necessary at least in order to find out where the pump is located.
Depending on which model of the device you have to work with, you will have to act according to one of the following scenarios.
When it is possible to reach the pump through the bottom of the device:
- We find a panel or a special door, which we open with a flat screwdriver. Detect the screw, which holds the drain filter and unscrew it.
- We deflect the device so that all the liquid flows out of it into a previously substituted container. Clockwise, scroll the filter, releasing all the remaining water.
- Next, turn the filter counter-clockwise, press it inward and take it out through the open bottom.
- We disconnect a hose, all wires and clips, we take out the pump.
Tip: Any procedures with a washing machine start with two mandatory manipulations. First we disconnect the unit from the mains, after which we make sure that the water supply tap is closed.
When you have to get to the pump through the facade part:
- Take out the powder tray from the washing machine and unscrew the screw found underneath it.
- At the bottom of the unit, remove the panel, gaining access to the drain filter. There we unscrew one more screw, then gently remove the front panel.
- Under it is found the inner panel with additional screws. We unscrew them and it remains to disconnect the cuff, remove the clamp from the hatch, and unclasp the clamps.
- After the pump is available, drain the water, disconnect all parts, including the hose.
When we get to the pump through the rear wall of the washing machine:
- Unscrew the clamps securing the drain hose, disconnect it. We twist all the screws that hold the back panel and remove it.
- Disconnect the wires, unscrew the pump, disconnect it from all elements.
After all the procedures are completed, you can start cleaning the pump. If such manipulations with the typewriter are carried out for the first time, then it is best to photograph all the stages of work.
Cleaning rules for the functional part
To thoroughly clean the pump, it is absolutely necessary to take care of its impeller. To remove it, you need to unscrew the screws that connect the parts of the body of the element. In working condition, this part rotates, so during the washing process, it is wound with hair, thread, wool and other debris. All this is removed, the product is wiped from the inside, the hoses are also recommended for cleaning. After that, install the parts in place and collect everything as it was.
Next we start the washing machine in the standard mode and evaluate its quality. If there is no noise, and the water is drained without problems, then everything was done correctly. It happens that the manipulations do not give the desired result, then the pump or the hose leaving it must be replaced.
Preventing clogging of the drain pump
Among the main reasons after which it is necessary to clean the pump or hose, allocate the use of hard or dirty water for washing, incorrectly selected detergents, and an abundance of garbage. Compliance with a number of rules will reduce the risk of clogging of important functional elements:
- For washing clothes, you can use only a special washing powder designed for automatic washing.
- Things, especially those from which threads or small parts can come off, must first be placed in a bag or mesh.
- Before the hose, through which the water enters the machine, you need to install a quality filter.
- If it seems that the performance of the device has started to decrease, you need to disassemble the device in time and clean all filters and pumps.
It turns out that, despite all the hassle of the task, you can deal with it yourself. The main thing is not to depart from the instruction, to follow the sequence of actions and to work strictly according to plan.
