The dishwasher has already become popular with many housewives today. Quickly and easily washed dishes save time, effort and money. We get used to good things very quickly, so if the device fails, the question arises: how quickly and inexpensively to return it to the working state? Today we will analyze the main problems and we will talk how to fix the dishwasher with our own hands.

In most cases, the design and operation principle of such devices are similar, so if you have the Ariston, Bosch or Electrolux equipment, the diagnostics and repair of dishwashers will be almost identical.

Machine device

All models can be divided into embedded and detached. Built-in are very convenient, because they take up less space, but their repair can be complicated due to the fact that it is not easy to get to the device. The stand-alone appliances are the other way around - they take up more space, but they are much easier to repair.

As already mentioned, the device of most models looks like it allows you to identify the main details and mechanisms.

Case

The body itself contains all the parts and components that ensure the operation of the device.

Control panel

This is the whole unit, which is located on the front wall of the case. It is equipped with buttons and sensors that allow you to select the required washing cycle and adjust all parameters.

Important! Often the panel is supplemented by a timer that displays the delay time of the launch or the time before the end of the program.

Impeller

Otherwise sprayers. These parts are responsible for washing the dishes: they pressurize soapy water into a compartment with dirty dishes and spray it.

Float

This is part of the leakage protection system. It looks like a cylinder with a float, to which contacts are connected. If the cylinder overflows to a certain level - the float will float up, closing the contacts, which, depending on the manufacturer, include a water drain pump. In this case, the operation of the device is stopped or the pump supplying water is turned off.

Drain

This is also an entire system consisting of an evacuation pump and a drainage pipe.

Water supply

As well as the drain, it is provided with its pump, filters and is usually installed next to the motor.

Chamber for utensils

This is the main compartment in which all dishes are loaded.

Door

The door closes the device and is equipped with contacts, the closure of which when closed and activates the program.

Heating element

This part of the unit is responsible for heating the water to the required temperature and feeding it to the device.

Important! The very process of washing is due to the dispersal of water by the upper and lower sprayers, the action of which is regulated by a special valve. And at the end of the washing, the detergent is washed off with a special drain hose.

Also the device is equipped with:

  • cable for connection to mains;
  • cleaning filter;
  • motor;
  • by the pump.

Of course, before you start repairing the dishwasher, you should open the instruction manual and carefully study both the safety technique and the design of your model. Next, let's talk about the main breakdowns and their causes.

Diagnosis of problems

At first glance, the device of the device is very simple, but it is a delusion. The operation of all mechanisms is connected by a hundred wires, microcircuits, modules and sensors.

For troubleshooting problems you will need:

  • screwdriver set;
  • multimeter;
  • cutters and clamps.

Important! The principle of operation of most dishwashers is similar to their design, respectively - faults and their causes will be the same.

The machine does not supply water

In this problem, a clogged filter of the device may be guilty or the pump may be broken. If the filter is easily removed, rinsed and installed back, then the supply valve will have to tinker. It is necessary to disconnect all its contacts and ring for breakdowns. As a result, you will understand how the dishwasher repairs will continue.

The machine turns on, but does not start any

program. If the lights are on, but the program does not start, it may be a short circuit in the engine or pump. Check the tightness of the device door. If it is hermetically - then, as in the first case for diagnostics, you need to disassemble the machine.

Important! Under the front panel below is a junction box. First, the current from the network gets into it, and after that it is distributed to the parts through the terminals.

Check all terminal boxes: it happens that they are oxidized from humidity. Then they need to be cleaned. If the contacts are clean and complete - use a multimeter and call the box to see which repair of the dishwasher is needed.

Device does not work

If the machine does not show signs of life - the problem can be either in the wire or in the socket, or in the engine damage:

  1. The first thing to do is to ring the outlet.
  2. If the voltage is good, check the cord for any breaks, or connect a new test cord to the device.
  3. If the machine still does not give any signals - to diagnose a breakdown, the device will have to disassemble and call up the motor contacts.

Does not discharge water

There are three possible reasons:

  • blockage of the drain pipe - it can be cleaned even for prevention;
  • clogged filter - it is removed and washed;
  • a malfunction in the pump - it is removed and the winding is called.

Important! In case of zero voltage - the part is changed to a new one. With this fault, you should pay attention to the filter, it may be clogged, and also check the drain pump.

No reverse

In this case, could "fly" the engine, so for diagnosis, ring it.
Or the timer could fail. Then it is better to contact the service.

Leakage

If water flows out of the device, it is likely that the door is not sufficiently sealed at the junction with the housing. If something is wrong with the gasket, purchase a new one and install it.

Important! It is also possible that troubles occurred in the pump hose, or its seal was depressurized.

The device does not heat water

This is a common fault, in which, first of all, the heater is checked. If everything is all right with the detail, it's possible that something happened with the electronics, specifically - with a timer.

Drying does not work

In the event of this malfunction, check the fan of the device or its motor.

Of course, not all malfunctions can be eliminated on their own, but even people without the experience of repairing dishwashers can easily cope with the part.

We repair the machine

The simplest thing that can be done with faults, and as a preventive measure - clean the filters of the machine. How to get close to the filter - depends on the structure of the model. For some devices, you can do without even removing the housing parts.

To clean the filter, it is necessary:

  1. Remove the grilles from the cleaning chamber.
  2. Find the filter - it will be visible under the bars.
  3. Remove the filter - it can be fixed with a thread or simply inserted into the drain.
  4. The filter is then thoroughly rinsed under running water, if necessary with detergent.

Chimney pump

Often, the repair of dishwashers is that you need to check and repair their pump.

When locking the pump of the device, perform a number of steps:

  1. Disconnect device from mains and water supply.
  2. Unscrew and remove and clean the filter cylinder.
  3. Pull out the pump by pressing its cover.
  4. Gently wipe the pump with a sponge or cloth.
  5. Next, inspect the pump for chips or cracks. If they are found - it is necessary to purchase a new part and replace it.

Repair engine

If the engine or other internal mechanisms of the device breaks down, the machine must be disassembled. But this process is quite easy: simply unscrew the fasteners on the body that are next to the intended place of malfunction and remove the parts.

If the motor is defective, the following actions should be taken:

  1. Remove the lower front side of the housing.
  2. Disconnect all engine mounts, pumps.
  3. Prepare a container into which we will drain the remaining water in the appliance.
  4. We drain water from pipes, hoses, pump.
  5. Open the pump cover by pressing it.
  6. We extract the pump.
  7. Under the pump is the engine - it is checked with a multimeter, if necessary - is replaced.
  8. The unit is then collected in the reverse order of removal.

Any home appliances can break, not an exception and a dishwasher. But do not panic, because some problems can be solved on their own. Remember that if the device is still under warranty, it's better not to repair the dishwashers yourself, but to contact the service. Of course, all faults can not be described, but if you understand the basic steps of the diagnosis, then it will become much easier for you to cope with the problem even alone.
