Can I make concrete rings with my own hands, so that they meet all the requirements of strength and reliability, or is it better to buy these products in the store? Any problem can be solved if we find the right approach to it. If there is a need to construct a well, a septic tank or a cesspool without reinforced concrete rings, there is no way to do it. To correctly do everything, you need to carefully study this topic. In the article you will find detailed information on how to make concrete rings.

Many people, believing that it is more profitable and more reliable to buy a finished product in a store, do not even think about the benefits of producing a self-reinforced concrete ring:
- Firstly, it is more profitable financially. To produce a ring with a diameter of 1.5 m, 0.3 cube of concrete will be needed. The price of concrete depends on its brand, but even so the cost of a homemade product is half as cheap as buying a finished one.
- Secondly - after analyzing the labor costs, the purchase of finished rings also comes out on top. In this case, all efforts will be directed to the search for a proven manufacturer that produces a quality product. It is also important to organize the delivery of the purchase to the site, which is additional troubles and financial expenses.
Important! In case of independent work, it is necessary to purchase high-quality materials and tools for making molds for pouring reinforced concrete products.

In order to make concrete rings with your own hands at home, you will need the following:
- Sand;
- High-quality cement for the manufacture of concrete mix M400-M500;
- Rubble;
- Concrete mixer;
- Large tanks;
- Wheelbarrow;
- Form for pouring concrete mix.
Form for concrete rings with their own hands
The following technological conditions must be observed for the production of the mold:
- The formwork must have a smooth annular shape and include two collapsible rings that are fitted into each other.
Important! The inner cylinder should be ten centimeters above the outer one.
- The optimal material for the formwork is wood or metal.
Important! For the production of molds as a material, the best option would be an old metal barrel. From it, you can quickly cut out the right sizes of finished cylinders.
to the table of contents ↑The shape for the concrete rings with your own hands. Manufacturing technology:
- It is necessary to carry out two longitudinal vertical lines from the outside, which will divide it into two identical parts.
- On the line of marking on each side, at least two door or window canopies should be installed. Their sashes must be at the edges of the line, and the articulation should be located strictly on the line.
Important! The flaps can be attached by welding or rivets.
- On the one hand, it is necessary to cut the bottom hub-fixing spindles. This will make it possible to easily disassemble the canopies.
- Project vertical lines on the outside of the cylinder.
- Cut the cylinder with the help of a grinder on the intended lines with a thin disc.
Important! In order not to damage the canopies, this procedure must be carried out very carefully.
- After this, the process of manufacturing the outer wall of the formwork is considered complete. Remove the roof spindles and open the cylinder.
Important! If necessary, grease the awnings so that the shape can easily be opened.
- The inner ring is manufactured in a similar way. Only vertical lines should be applied in such a way that they divide the cylinder not into equal parts, as in the case with the outer ring, but are at a distance from each other in ⅔ of the length of the entire circumference. In addition, the lines should be located on the inside.
- In the same way you need to install awnings and cut off the spindle heads, only they should be on the inside of the structure.
- Project onto the outside of the line cylinder and cut carefully with a bulgarian.
So, both forms are ready.
Important! The inner ring should easily open inwards, and the outer ring open outward.
to the contents ↑Concrete rings with your own hands. Stages of production
After the form for the manufacture of concrete rings is ready, you can proceed directly to the production of products.
This process consists of several stages:
- Preparation of formwork and reinforcement;
- Preparation of the solution;
- Form filling;
- Extraction of the finished ring.
Let's take a closer look at each stage, so that the concrete rings with their own hands were of the highest quality.
Preparation of formwork and reinforcement:
- Finished rings should be installed on a level platform. The inner cylinder must be located strictly in the middle of the outer cylinder.
Important! If the operation is carried out in the summer, it is better to put the molds in a shady place, so that the mixture does not dry out ahead of time, as this will significantly reduce the strength of the concrete.
- Reinforcement can be performed using a special metal mesh, which is installed between the cylinders in the middle. If such a grid is missing, then for these purposes it is possible to use a wire, laying it in the process of pouring concrete in a spiral.
Important! Without reinforcement, the manufacture of rings is also permitted, but in this case the wall thickness should be at least 15 cm.
- To prevent displacement of the cylinders during pouring, several spacer wedges must be installed between them.
Preparation of
solution The correctness of this stage of work depends on the strength and durability of the finished product.
Special vibroforms are used at enterprises for the manufacture of concrete rings. However, in home conditions, there are no electric vibrators, so a plasticizer is used to improve the properties of concrete. It is especially important in case the ring is in contact with water.
Important! How to use the plasticizer correctly, and in what doses, is detailed on the package.
Mixing process:
- Mix 1 part of cement and 2-2.5 parts of sand.
- Add 0.5-0.7 parts water and a plasticizer to the dry mix.
- The next step is the addition of 3-4 parts of gravel or crushed stone. It must first be moistened with water.
- The resulting mixture must be mixed thoroughly in a concrete mixer.
Form filling
You can start this work step only if the air temperature is not lower than + 8 degrees Celsius.
Procedure:
- Gently pour the concrete solution around the circumference to a height of 15-25 centimeters.
- After this, tamp the mixture with a thick metal rod.
Important! For these purposes, a wooden stick or a handle from a shovel is also suitable.
- Pour the solution another 20 cm and seal it in a similar way.
- When the solution level reaches visually above the average, it will be necessary to pull out the wooden spacers.
- Then the solution is poured to the very top of the mold and compacted. If necessary, you need to top up the concrete.
- Carefully level the top. It is desirable that the end of the ring be flawless, as it will be docked.
Important! If the pouring occurred in hot weather, the mold should be covered with a wet burlap and periodically moistened.
Extraction of the finished ring:
- With optimal air and humidity parameters 3-4 days later, it will be possible to disassemble the formwork by first opening the inner cylinder and then the outer cylinder. However, concrete can not yet be moved or rolled, since it has not yet gained the necessary strength to withstand even the most minimal load.
- The concrete should also be periodically moistened for 7 days.
- After 10 days, the finished product can be moved.
Important! Use the concrete ring by hand with your own hands is desirable only after a full set of strength solutions, which occurs, as a rule, no earlier than 28 days.
to the table of contents ↑Useful tips for the manufacture of concrete rings by one's own hands:
- The mortar for a concrete ring must be filled with layers of no more than 20 cm in thickness.
- The higher the ambient temperature, the stronger the concrete as a result. However, it is worth considering that the temperature should not be above 22 degrees Celsius.
- To increase the waterproofness and plasticity of the reinforced concrete ring, potash glass can be added to the mixture.
- Increase the fluidity of the concrete mixture by adding a liquid detergent to the solution in a ratio of 2% of the total volume.
- To increase the strength of the reinforced concrete product, PVA glue is added to the mixture.
Making sewer rings with their own hands is quite feasible. Perhaps this process will take you longer than it takes to buy a finished product, but in this way you can save considerably, while controlling the quality of the reinforced concrete ring. Observing the instructions given in the article, you will do everything yourself without any problems and bring the installation end of the water supply, sewage or drainage system closer.
