If your bath has a damage, you can do the following:

  • The most expensive way is to replace the bathtub. Of course, this is the most extreme option, if the damage is very strong and repair is impossible.
  • A call to the home of a specialist who will repair the coating with special means.
  • Polishing the acrylic bath by yourself.

Important! Polishing is the process of removing the top layer from a scratched surface using abrasive tools. Acrylic is a very delicate and whimsical material that requires careful treatment. Polishing of the cast iron bath

The polishing of the cast iron bath with your own hands is more complicated. First of all, it must be cleaned of dirt and limescale.

  1. Pour 100 ml of hydrogen peroxide into a clean jar and add 50 ml of ammonia.
  2. Apply to problem areas with a sponge or cloth.
  3. After 10-15 minutes rinse with water.

Important! The room should be well ventilated, since ammonia has a strong toxic odor.

Purification with hydrochloric acid

The most effective way to get rid of all dirt and rust is hydrochloric acid.

Important! Work with hydrochloric acid is necessary, observing all precautions and protection.

  • Wind the cranes, hose and other chrome products nearby, cellophane.
  • Put rubber gloves on your hands.
  • Dampen a rag in hydrochloric acid and treat all problem areas.

Steps for polishing the cast-iron bath

After you have cleaned the bath of all contaminants, you can proceed to the next step of priming and polishing:

  • Primer is applied after the surface has completely dried.
  • To accelerate the process, you can wipe it with a clean dry rag or cloth.
  • For priming you will need an aerosol from a can.
  • Once it has been applied again, wait until it dries. Now you can apply enamel.
  • The most popular is considered to be nitro-enamel in cans.
  • Apply it with a flat brush made of natural lint.

Important! Humidity in the bathroom should not exceed 60%.

  • The enamel is applied in two layers, each of which must be completely dry before the process can be continued. For a glossy effect, the last layer is wetted with a solvent and the bath is left for a day.
  • After all the layers have dried, you can polish the surface with a paste - you can use a car polish. For polishing, it's best to use a grinding machine, since manually you will take a very long time.

Important! Enamel is not as reliable as the factory enamel, so it's best to refrain from using aggressive detergents.

  • You can, of course, do without enamelling and after cleaning proceed immediately to the polishing process. In this case, it is better to buy a pair of polish bottles: one - with coarse-grained, the second - with less granularity. And still stock up with rags and patience.
  • Strike the coarse-grained polish in the enamel, long and intensely polish. If you have assistants, for example, a grinder, then you are lucky. For you, the process will not be so laborious.
  • After you finish this stage of work, flush the plumbing with clean water using detergent. The coating should be smooth, without any roughness.

Important! To make the surface not only smooth, but also mirror it, then polish it with fine-grained polish, then rinse with soap and rinse with clean water.

To do everything qualitatively, you need to be patient, as this is a long process and the result of the work depends on the quality of its execution.
