Sideboards first appeared in France in the XVIII century. Only wealthy citizens could have them, because beautiful tableware itself was a luxury item. Accordingly, the sideboards made of valuable wood were also available to the elect.

To have in the living room such a cabinet, containing in itself delicious dishes and crystal, was simply necessary to emphasize its status and boast of wealth. Cabinets USSR

It was rustic, laconic, it can be said, minimalistic in design.
Such sideboards were produced by factories in huge numbers, but they looked all the same, like soldiers in the ranks. As we remember, mass production was inherent in everything - from clothes to utensils, vases. The interior of the apartments of average citizens was similar to each other.
A couple of decades ago, the servants were bored with everyone, and it was unfashionable to have them in the apartment. But a little time passed and they were remembered again.

Services, glasses, glasses, cups-cups each owner has accumulated a considerable amount. And for myself, and for the dowry, and what inherited from my beloved grandmother.
Everything seems to be beautiful, but do you need to put all the crockery in the sideboard?
- Ceramic dishes, pottery is better not to show off. They find a place on open shelves in the kitchen, if it is in the style of Country or Provence. And then, in a small amount. It is better to stack them in a closed lower section.
- Porcelain set, especially if it is rarity or expensive, for example, Meissen, has the right to sit in the sideboard. But not in full composition. A beautiful tureen, sauce-boat, salad bowl is enough. The pyramid of numerous plates is also better to put down. You can put the biggest dish vertically under the far wall.
- Tea sets are also not exhibited in full. Worthy attention zavarnik, sugar bowl, milkman, you can supplement this group with a couple of cups and saucers. But such a service, of course, must be original and beautiful.
Important! Similar compositions are in good harmony with small trinkets: napkin, small porcelain figurines, beautiful candles, tiny ceramic vases.
- A worthy place in the sideboard will take crystal: glasses and glasses of different shapes and sizes. But they should stand separately from porcelain and ceramics. Crystal will perfectly play all the faces, if it will be placed on a shelf with illumination.
Important! Sometimes in a sideboard put elite drinks or simply drinks in unusual bottles.
- What is undesirable to place in the sideboard is the "towers" of heavy plates, bulky vases, photographs of numerous relatives, feathers, seashells, mummified sea urchins and other souvenirs brought from the resorts in memory of the rest. Also, rows of identical glass glasses will look ugly - they should also be hidden down, out of sight.
How to place dishes in the sideboard?
There are several rules that will help create a beautiful composition from the dishes, rather than a multi-grade chaos. The original items can be many, but that's not all they are suitable for each other. So, what are the rules to adhere to when you decide how beautiful it is to place the dishes in the sideboard?
Rule number 1.Uniform style:
- Do not expose everything that you have in the bins. From the available sets and services, select those that most harmoniously combine not only with each other, but with the color scheme of the room.
- Sets and services that stand side by side should be combined in functionality and material from which they are made. Do not put crystal glasses next to the coffee set.
- Do not place figurines, vases and other small items near the crystal - place it only near ceramics and porcelain.
Rule number 2.Observe the measure:
- Of the services it is not necessary to expose everything completely. Choose the most successful items: a salad bowl, a brewer, a milkman, a fish dish, a couple of cups and saucers, and leave a stack of plates below.
- Arrange the objects so that there is space between them, and you can look at each thing with your eyes.
- Family relics and especially valuable items for you put in a place of honor - in the center of the composition, at eye level. But if there are a lot of them, select a few, while others are hidden. When you change the location of the dishes in the sideboard, replace them with others.
Rule number 3.Harmonious arrangement of objects that are different in size:
- The location of objects, spaced from the larger to the smaller, with steps, looks tasteless. Divide the dishes into several groups, make a beautiful composition of them.
- When disposing the elements of the dishes, put the tallest ones closer to the far wall, and the smallest ones are located closer to the doors.
Important! Do not know how to arrange glasses in a glass cabinet nicely? Surround the tall champagne glasses with crystal glasses.
Rule number 4.Compatible with the color of the cabinet:
- From all the sets of dishes, select for the cupboard those that will look best on the shelves.
Important! In the sideboard of dark wood, chic porcelain and crystal will look chic. But in a light sideboard bright colors will play in colors, but crystal and glass objects may look unimaginative.
- Nearby songs should also be combined in color. You can play beautifully in contrast.
Important! Next to the dishes of ivory, the red service fits perfectly.
- Many people in the design of the sideboard take into account the basics of Feng Shui. This teaching will find the place of every detail, so that its energy is directed to the right track.
