As Alexander Vasilyev himself, a fashion historian, says: “I live in a box!” And it's not just a figure of speech. The rooms are filled with various details, while few will blame Alexander for bad taste - all the paintings, decorations and furniture are selected with a special style and blend well with each other. The TV presenter has been living in this apartment for more than thirty years.

Unusual "chips" in the design of the apartment
There are three rooms in the apartment. The main one is the living room, the walls of which are decorated in a bright and noble shade of cochineal. This color was chosen by chance when Alexander was walking around the Sintra Palace in Portugal.
Interestingly, the fashion historian did not have to buy the apartment himself, it was provided by the wife of former French President Jacques Chirac for her contribution to the study of French culture and fashion. Despite the fact that Alexander himself can live in this apartment for an unlimited amount of time, he cannot transfer it to someone, and he is also obliged to pay taxes.
The corridors in the apartment are decorated no less interesting than the rooms. For the walls, the fashion historian chose a noble malachite color.
Bedroom and kitchen in a Parisian apartment
Despite the fact that an apartment with three rooms may seem very large to almost every Russian person, for a wealthy Parisian it is a closet. However, Alexander Vasiliev does not complain much about the size of his home and continues to fill it with interesting details. Alexander's taste attracted the attention of television people from France - people came to the house to shoot programs and do photo shoots for Western interior magazines.
According to Alexander Vasiliev, he is really proud of the collectibles that he was able to get. One of the most unusual and interesting finds is a luxurious Venetian mirror and canape, which once belonged to the famous designer Schiaparelli.
Alexander chose beautiful paintings from the 19th century to decorate the walls - most of them were purchased in France.
For heating in the house, firewood is used, which must be laid in a cast-iron stove in the kitchen. However, most often Alexander cooks on the most ordinary gas stove.
The peculiarity of the bedroom is the absence of sharp corners. Alexander Vasiliev decided to create a cozy and comfortable space for himself and chose only furniture with rounded corners. Above the bed hangs an old painting-portrait of the former owner of the house, painted by the owner's father in 1978.
The main "feature" of the bedroom is a bed with a lambrequin. Despite its small size, it is very comfortable.
Other interior features
The apartment has two floors - on the second floor there is a living room, a bedroom and a bathroom. To decorate the bedroom, Alexander Vasiliev chose several unusual details - a very old chest of drawers, a clock, and a vintage armchair that had to be restored. The master, who restored the chair, reupholstered it with silk satin and literally gave the chair a second life.
To decorate the guest room, Alexander decided to use two antique beds, which he somehow miraculously found in Lithuania and was not even too lazy to deliver them to France.
Also in the room is a large collection of gilded bronze clocks from the Napoleonic era. All the details are very expensive and exclusive, and in their search, the fashion historian had to bypass more than one antiquities shop. According to Alexander, such things add a special charm to the apartment, but it is extremely important that such the elements were not fake, since non-natural materials and "gilding" only spoil the overall impression.
One of the notable features of the apartment is the bathroom with a window, which is a typical story for France and quite unusual for Russia. Alexander likes to spend time in the bath, filling it with foam. When swimming, you can look out the window and enjoy the stunning views, and sometimes, if you're lucky, admire the cows grazing in the meadow - this is truly an amazing sight. The bathtub, like everything else in the house, is antique.
Alexander loves to spend time in the apartment - here he takes a break from work and numerous filming, reads and just enjoys life.
The Parisian apartment is not the only piece of real estate owned by Vasiliev. He also has huge apartments in Antalya. They don't look as fancy as a Parisian apartment, but are just as full of interesting details. The fashion historian is only engaged in its design, therefore, he has not yet presented photographs of all the premises to the interested public. It is only known that the total area of the apartment is 100 square meters.
