What is it and where is the mobile floor heating used?
A mobile warm floor is an electrical appliance consisting of several elements covered with a heat-resistant film. The temperature is regulated, as usual, by a thermostat.
It can be placed in any room, including unheated rooms. Great as an additional source of heat or as a heating method on a balcony or loggia. By the way, such mobile devices are also sold for cars.
Which one to choose: infrared or resistive?
There are two types of mobile underfloor heating, and each of them has its own advantages and disadvantages.
The most popular are infrared floors - a thin carbon film with heating filaments that work in parallel and rarely fail.
The work of an infrared underfloor heating allows you to evenly warm up the room. If necessary, the film can be cut to fit the room. The infrared floor is completely safe, heats up no more than 55 degrees and does not damage fabric carpets or linoleum.
The only thing that needs to be paid close attention to is to thoroughly check all contacts before laying.
Resistive floors are made of composite plastic and plastic sheeting. They are highly durable and flexible. Each element of a resistive floor has blocks that work on the principle of convection.
The thermostat allows you to fine-tune the heating. Resistive floors do not dry the air. But please note: resistive elements cannot be placed under linoleum and carpet.
What is the principle to choose a warm mobile floor
If you decide to supplement the main heating with a mobile underfloor heating, be sure to pay attention to the manufacturers. Don't trust cheap Chinese models.
You need to pay attention to this when choosing a mobile heated floor:
- the quality of the insulation of contacts;
- film thickness: at least 3 mm;
- power and compliance with the topcoat. If you have linoleum - power 160 W per m², if tiles - 220 W;
- quality carbon spraying - no defects or gaps.
- gaps between carbon strips: turbid will last longer, as it is a laminated material.
